As an owner, why are you investing in Lucid?

I was hoping it would follow the Tesla arc and make me millions. Well, that didn't pan out lol! My granddaughter will inherit my shares. If Lucid does follow Tesla and introduces the mid-sized SUV, I think that will be a turning point. Waiting for next year. Meanwhile, trying to decide on buying more Lucid or just wait.

Lucid delivered its first vehicle 3 years and 12 days ago. Where was Tesla 3 yrs post initial vehicle delivery?

Hope they use the money to fix their software development and get that mid size released they’ve got the best product in the US EV market by far with those two things done and the stock will go to the moon! 🚀 🌕 💎 🙌🏻 There just isn’t the mass market for large sedans anymore even Lexus is sunsetting the LS (love my air tho) and even though the Gravity is incredible (I want one) it does have van vibes which just isn’t that popular in the US luxury SUV market right now - most are boxes or shapely boxes except the Model X which looks like a pregnant egg lol. They win every car award except software and they need that mass market midsize ASAP! I believe in Lucid!!! Buy the dip!!!

CORRECTION: 4 years and 12 days ago.

What qualifies these as flops? They do have issues but idk if it’s fair to call it a flop.
Flop meaning execution…. Both vehicles were delayed, slow ramp, software issues…by the time the base model comes out, buyers look at software problems and slowly lose interest and look elsewhere.

They say Touring in 2025, where are the details? Is this going to be a “ Gravity being delivered in 2024” joke?

They should stop treating investors and buyers like we are fools. It’s getting ridiculous.

Maybe Lucid should hire you as their next CEO? I hope you have submitted your application. @socktucker can be your CTO. Go show them how it is done guys.

Saudi’s are heavily invested in Uber….not the same. They need to “real” partnerships. Rivian CEO seems to know how to create hype and positive shareholder value.

Lucid executives seem to be riding the coattails of the PIF leading to complacency and poor execution. And they keep falling down on their promises again and again and again…..the markets have just no trust in Lucid management. All time lows again for the stock is a guarantee…..

And to imagine this is happening when their “volume” SUV seller is ramping up…..what a cluster. I’m very disappointed in this company. You can make an almost great product, yet still falter. It’s not just engineering, you need good able management. What’s the point in making the “ best vehicle” when you can’t execute anything properly. Look at European sales- non-existent!

You claimed Lucid doesn't have a real partnership. They do. That's what I was responding to.

That doesn't mean they haven't had frustrating manufacturing delays, and frustrating software issues. They have, and still do.

Also, the "volume" vehicle has always been targeted as their 3rd vehicle (~$50k Earth). Not the Gravity. That's their luxury 3-row SUVan. No $100k+ vehicle is gonna be a high volume seller (or even the $80k+ version). And yes, the Earth better be a volume hit for the company to survive past the next 3 years.

Nothing, because they aren’t. The Air is still the best selling vehicle in its class. That’s the definition of “not a flop”

The Gravity has had some teething issues. So did the Air. That didn’t stop the Air from becoming the best selling vehicle in its class.

Just a reminder that @merveille07 doesn’t own a Lucid a never has. Probably not an investor either. Just a bored high school kid.
This is not relevant. Please debate the content, not the author. Ad hominems have no place here.

You keep moving the goalposts (aka “special pleading,” a logical fallacy). That makes it impossible to have a debate or discussion with you. That is the reason people don’t engage as much in good faith with your arguments.

You have formed an opinion and are seeking evidence to justify it, rather than seeking evidence to form an opinion. That’s not worth debating or discussing, and is better placed on Reddit or X than here.

Try to have an open mind, and consider that you may occasionally be incorrect.

This.

I really like my Air Touring -- it's not perfect, but it's a very good car with some decided shortcomings.

That said, imo, the company's execution has been pretty bad. Anyone remember these production forecasts: Lucid expects to deliver 49,000 vehicles in 2023, rising to 90,000 in 2024, 135,00 in 2025, and 251,00 in 2026? Gravity production to start in 2023?

So, this year will end at what, less than 15% of the projection given above? Gravity rollout/ramp is still quite slow and showing some quality issues.

As an investor, it's hard to have a great deal of faith in the company's management and execution. I do hope they succeed, and I have a small position in the company's stock. However, their repeated stumbles seem to be decreasing the likelihood of long-term success. The prospect of a future tsunami of Chinese EV's has to be terrifying to folks at Lucid and the traditional ICE manufacturers.

Congrats, new ATL for Lucid. Half way close to the BOFA target.

Right how is a big contract with Uber not a huge deal. It is!
