Unless I'm blind, the article doesn't mention that the supplied batteries to Stellantis will be semi solid-state so there will only be partial improvements to standard lithium-ion batteries. There are a few examples already found in the automotive world (like NIO) but they are still prohibitively expensive and I imagine the same here. I suspect Stellantis will be eating the cost of the batteries and use the next-gen Charger demonstration fleet as a test bench for themselves and Factorial.

Still, good to see progress being made but we still aren't quite there and it will probably be some time until full solid-state batteries (which it looks like Factorial is also working on but are still in sample stages) get down to a tolerable cost for manufacturers.
