Good enough. Don’t read my posts and don’t respond with massively illogical comments and I won’t point it the error in your logic.

Oh, how I wish this were an option for me.

And of course (again, use logic) there are many warnings about paying attention, and not depending on any “self drive” as it doesn’t have that capability. We are a litigious society, it is why we have so many lawyers.

I suppose it's possible Lucid wrote all that in the manual because they were afraid of being sued. Or, you know. It could be that they were simply stating facts about the current capabilities of the car. Who's to say which is more likely?

All that said, this IS an area where Lucid can improve and that was the point of my original post. There is where part two comes in, reading is a good skill to have.

There is a single error in my original post. Nor is there an error in my response to the post with many factual errors. So if you want to be the truth sayer, start with the right person, yourself first, then the person who responded to my post.

I'm going to ask you to take a look at the labels under my avatar. Then read our guidelines, since you're so big on reading comprehension.

Then I'm going to ask you politely one more time to treat others here with respect. Because that's sort of my job here. To welcome new folks and remind them we're a community of friendly people. We don't take kindly to people who come into our nice space and hurl invective.

For the record, just saying there are no factual errors in what you write doesn't make it so. Nor is it the point we're trying to make. The manual was clearly quoted to you, and the intention of the manual's warnings about using ACC on roads with stop and go traffic are clear as day. If you want to continue to believe the car is supposed to stop for cars stopped at a red light, you're likely going to hurt someone. And you'll still be incorrect.

Many here so far have agreed they'd love it if ACC were designed to do this. Many have talked about other cars of theirs that are capable of doing this. We agree on that. Isn't that nice?

None of that makes it true that Lucid's ACC was designed to do this, nor that Lucid's stated intention is for ACC to be able to do this.

(Protip: That is how you use the neither / nor construction in English. Both points have to be negative.)

So once again, I'll suggest we all take a deep breath. Step away from the keyboard for a moment, and consider that a few of us are merely trying to point out while we wish ACC could effectively detect stopped cars ahead of you and brake in a smooth fashion, that is not currently the case. And that fact is stated in plain language in the owner's manual.

So anyone else reading this, please don't expect the car to stop in that circumstance. It may not. And if it does, it'll do so very violently. Because it'll be the result of the emergency crash detection kicking in, not ACC, which is not currently capable of detecting stationary objects in the distance.

I think a lot of the problems with driver assist have been remedied. I’m excited to see how hands-free implementation as well as any other improvements that they have been making feel at the end of this month. The new partnership with Uber is sure to bring some at least institutional awareness.
