After the 2.8 software update, the cruise control function has been intermittently failing to start. I’m able to set a driving speed but the set speed numbers are faded out like it’s inactive and the car won’t maintain speed or the hands free driving. I’ve tried both hard and soft resets but neither seem to resolve the issue. Customer Care says they can’t see anything wrong, but I’m curious if anyone else has experienced a similar issue or knows of a solution? Driving the car on a road trip without cruise control is actually harder than I remember!

Can you take a video? Are you in ACC or Drive Assist?

It has happened in my 2025 AT several times. Usually after the car goes to sleep it starts working normally again.

I've have this problem with the current 2.8.0 version and several versions back. For me, it starts of failing when I first drive off. I set the speed, but the speed shows up on the display dimmed. After a while it seems to engage. The last time this happened was with 2.8.0: After leaving the Salt River Rest Area and starting an uphill climb, I resumed my 40mph set speed, but the speed was dimmed out and it displayed "Adaptive Cruise". It then prompted me to enable Drive Assist and when I did, it started working. It's a rare occurrence for me and seems to "fix" itself.
