One of my biggest complaints about the Air's software is the unreasonable amount of time it takes to switch between profiles. It's also incredibly frustrating that regenerative braking settings aren't saved separately for each profile and have to be adjusted repeatedly.

For those who have completed the hardware upgrade, have you noticed any improvement in profile-switching speed or overall responsiveness in this area?

Significant. Profile switching is one of the largest speed ups.

One more question... after upgrading does this now allow multi tasking as of now?
No, that is coming with UX3, which the CCC v2 will allow to be installed. Likely later this year.

I have a 2025 Air GT. I am still on software Version 2.8.30. When can I expect to get the latest update?

Sooo implying the Hw upgrade would be strongly suggested ?

It's completely up to you. Depends on your interest in better software vs the pain of spending $950.
You can always do it later if you want to.

Personally I would. Mine already has the newer hardware (2025 Pure) when I bought mine but I did the upgrade when I had my 2014 Tesla Model S P85D, the upgrade was the best thing I did to the car.
Whenever UX 3.0 comes to our Airs, and if it supports app splitting (e.g Nav on main screen and music on pilot screen), multi-tasking will always be better with better HW. I'd expect a rush of HW upgrade orders from current owners to come in. If your service center isn't too backlogged, I'd say do it now to future proof.
