I dislike the publisher but is this new or him just trying to stir up trouble again?

https://****************.com/lucid/...-sedans-over-fire-risk-fixes-it-over-the-air/

That Claudio guy...
Already getting sued by Lucid Motors too...

According to AI, 2.10.0

The Problem: Software managing the low-voltage eFuse for exterior lighting can fail to limit amperage, causing the circuit to overheat.

Safety Risk: Overheating circuits create a fire hazard and can cause exterior lighting failure, increasing crash risks.

As much as I dislike that website, it does appear that this is a recent story...

Flagging this as a “recall” while perhaps technically correct, seems a little misleading as the remedy is nothing more than a software update. I think when most people think of a recall they consider it to be something that has to be repaired at the dealer. When Apple identifies security risks they don’t recall iPhones, they issue a software update.

I've read this a couple of times and can't tell if 2.10.0 is a cure or a cause? Do I need to park outside?

It is technically a recall: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2026/RCLRPT-26V540-2255.pdf

Even a broken clock is right twice a day (re: the guy getting sued)

Cure.

“Lucid has enhanced the software logic to improve overcurrent protection provided by the eFuse (version 2.10.0 or the “Remedy Version”). The Remedy Version of software was released via over-the-air (OTA) in July 2026. Lucid has determined that vehicles equipped with the Remedy Version or later are adequately protected against the risk of thermal events on exterior lighting circuits.”

If you’ve updated, no need to park inside.

Also: this is the reason everyone should update their software, no matter how much you dislike a seatbelt image or any other such nonsense. :p

Personally as a icon agnostic, I like *all* seatbelt images, but about 18% of us Air owners are stuck awaiting the push according to LucidTracker.app

I got the "Park Outside" notification, but when I hit the "Update Now" button it just takes me to my current software page and says I am up to date at 2.9 .0

Since I have a Service Center Appointment in about 12 days, I will just get them to push it then.

Alternatively I could just make the 1+(888) call and be on hold for a equivalent amount of time. 🤣

I just found another Recall notice:

IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL NOTICE
Campaign ID: MOCK-2026-RECOG

Subject: Voluntary Recall of Invisible Brand Identity / Low Public Awareness

TO: All Onlookers, Pedestrians, Valet Drivers, and Automotive Enthusiasts

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (and our own marketing department) has determined that a critical defect exists regarding Lucid brand recognition.

The Defect
Certain vehicles, specifically the Lucid Air and Lucid Gravity, possess a sleek, understated aerodynamic design that causes onlookers to mistake them for a generic sedan or a Hyundai Sonata from more than 50 feet away. Pedestrians frequently fail to register that a high-end, ultra-luxurious electric vehicle is passing by. This results in zero pointing, zero gasps of awe, and an unacceptable lack of flex value for the driver.

Safety Consequence
A total lack of brand recognition can lead to:
  • Acute driver disappointment at stoplights.
  • Awkward situations where you have to explain to your neighbor what a "Lucid" is.
  • Reduced social media engagement when parked outside a trendy coffee shop.
Corrective Action
Lucid is issuing an immediate, retroactive awareness patch. The remedy does not require a physical shop visit or an over-the-air software update. Instead, drivers are advised to:
  1. Roll down the window and manually shout, "It has 800 horsepower!" at nearby pedestrians.
  2. Park strictly facing forward under bright streetlights.
  3. Keep the frunk open at all public gatherings to display groceries and/or seating in absolute silence.
For questions or to report an unobservant neighbor, please contact your local imagination.

That's just wrong on so many levels...😂😂😂

You can also email, or request a callback while on hold.

When I seemed to be stuck on the 2.9.0 I call them and they called back in 15 or so minutes. They pushed the next version and also said if your car is not connected to Wi-Fi, you could have missed the update. They are trying to push via Wi-Fi for all updates. As I was told it’s faster for them and cheaper.

Just to be clear for anybody normal amongst the sea of white knights, the recall notice getting pushed to your Lucid app literally tells you to park outside and away from structures until you have updated to 2.10.0.

In the case of my vehicle, which has repeatedly failed to update software since 2.8.30 and which the persistent SOFTWARE UPDATE FAILED banner in the app says "We will notify you when the next update is available. You do not need to take any action.".. this is a direct contradiction.

But yeah, sure, "nothing burger" according to the investors spamming here.

there is no need to denigrate others. There are no “investors spamming here”

If you can’t upgrade to 2.10, then yes, of course you have an issue.

If you have upgraded to 2.10, you don’t, and it’s a nothing burger.

Nobody was trying to tell you you shouldn’t update, or that you shouldn’t be worried if you can’t.

If you can’t upgrade, you need service.

Got the recall notice with the recommendation to update, but I have not received the update yet. Any way beyond endlessly waiting for a callback from lucid to get an update pushed to you?

If your car is running 2.10.0 you already have the update as stated by @borski. If your car has not yet updated to 2.10.0 perhaps wait a few days for it to complete distribution and if you do not have it, contact Lucid customer service. According to https://lucidtracker.app/ almost all Air have received the update. I encouge everyont to sign up for Lucid Tracker so that we all have more accurate information about issues like these.
