Android Auto update - full screen

I'm also looking forward to Google Maps on Android Auto's improved graphics and lane indications.

I actually didn’t realize the map would "feel" this much larger on the screen. It’s a huge plus that no updates are required on the vehicle side.View attachment 39015View attachment 39016
WOW! I think this finally makes it usable, the previous format was too much of a compromise.
Of course my car is in service, so I will have to take your word for it 🙂

Wait - is the full screen live and functioning now?! I thought it was an announcement of future capabilities

No, this is just an alpha version for now, and I'm only showing what was already revealed at Google I/O :) But I really wanted to share that it's real, it's working as advertised, and it's going to be incredibly cool.

Thanks for sharing it!

Damn, I was about to run out to my car and see if it was working now. Oh well, still cool for when it finally happens.

Same with the EV features that still aren't working (SOC prompt and arrival prediction). Still no clue why Battery Predictions fails to show up when adding the Gravity vehicle profile to Google Maps. 😞

So is this something that is 'just going to work' once the Android Auto gets updated on the phone, or is this something we're going to have to wait for Lucid to actually implement and provide in an OTA?

Likely the latter.

Only the Android app needs to be updated. For the full screen and YouTube, it’s projection.gearhead, but I think some of the functions are also tied to Maps. Either way, no changes are required from Lucid since everything is working fine for me.

The release notes mentioned the need for an automaker software update
it's probably not for Projected Android Auto, but for Android Automotive Embedded (where Android infotainment is embedded, like Volvo, Polestar, some GMs etc)

Has anyone been able to get any of these functions to work on the Gravity?

Looks like the new AA version with the full screen capability for odd sized screens has not been released by Google yet

I really wish I read this thread in its entirety. Because I did what everyone else did when I saw the pictures, went "wow I should try it again that's so much better!", and got the ultimate bamboozle discovering it's not there yet ☠️

I apologize for adding to the confusion in this thread. To be honest, I expected this update to be released to the public before October.
The public beta version actually released version 18 today, but it appears to be a big ol' nothing burger from what I can see. You'd think pushing the version number +1 would be the thing.
