Android Auto Thursday

This is likely coincidence. It has done this in @TribbleTrouble’s Ioniq 5 pretty much half the time she’s had it. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn’t, with no predictability.

And yes, she uses it in the Ioniq 5 because the 2023 doesn’t have wireless CarPlay (and never will), and the only USB port that does CarPlay is *way* in the front of the car meaning you have a cable dangling between the passenger and driver seat at all times.
Unlikely that it's coincidence since it's every single time for me now and others are reporting issues. Something changed.

Fair enough. Just reporting on my wife’s experience in the Ioniq; totally possible something has changed in either Lucid or the Carlinkit, I have no idea.

Yeah- would have called it up to one UI7 update on Samsung but carlinkit didn't get that update.

How's this dongle been for you? Reliable/quick? Any tricks needed to get it working? Just ordered one.
I have been using it for about 2 months now and it has been working reliably so far. Just like @Amster, I also use AA intermittently because I don't like the fact that CP and AA cut a rectangle in the middle of cockpit screen and some of the precious display space goes to waste. Here are my observations about the dongle's function.
  1. The boot sequence is not quick, it takes an upward of 20-30 seconds but once it comes on it works reliably. All AA supported apps work as expected. I mostly use Musicolet, Amazon Music, Google Messages, WhatsApp, Signal, and Google Maps.
  2. Two or three times, I observed the boot sequence completed but AA screen did not start on cockpit screen. In those cases, I had to reboot the dongle. I have connected the dongle to USB-A port and ordered a convenient USB-A switch to avoid unplugging/re-plugging. https://a.co/d/fLHwxH2
  3. The always on night mode does not work properly. Most (but not all) times, it comes on day mode although I have set my phone AA app to always night mode. If I toggle between day and night mode on my phone's AA app after AA is connected in the car, the dongle immediately follows along but it is annoying to do so every time the dongle starts.
Earlier in this thread (page 93), I fully documented the steps I took to get it working, including how I worked thru an initial set up wrinkle. I also posted screenshots. Let me know if you get it working.

I was just in touch with my sales specialist that I bought my Air GT with. I was complaining about Bluetooth issues and this is what I just heard from him today: " We’ve also just released an update that adds Android Auto, which is currently rolling out in phases."

My SA said this back in 2023

I heard the same thing today. That the release is finalized and now rolling out starting tomorrow.

That figures. I fly out on Thursday for a 12 day vacation. I'll be excited to come back and see it.

With Lucid i am going to believe only when i see it 🙂
Thinks may change between now and in the next minute.

If that were true someone here on these forums would have received it by now.

Lucid does read this forum. With the length of this thread, I would bet that it will be announced and start rolling out on a Thursday. It just seems right
