Android Auto Thursday

Keep moving forward a I'm sure your finalized design will arrive the same day AA for the Air is released by Lucid.
I'm rooting for @Steve181, as otherwise Android Auto may never appear.

I salute you @Steve181 ! Too many people complain but are not willing to do anything. There's always a way, just how much effort will it take? Also sharing your solutions with the forum really inspires others to do the same....
That and I agree with @DeaneG, that this prods the gods of fortune into bringing AA to the Airs quicker😂😂😂

Happy Android Auto Thursday!!!!!

Only 15 weeks until fall, pretty exciting!
At the time I set up the Carlinkit for AA access, over a year ago, I thought I might be spending too much money on it. But now, all I can say is that I'm happy I set up an alternative to waiting. This will be nice when it finally comes out, but not a game changer in any way for me.

I was certain that all those Carlinkit purchases would trigger the release of Android Auto once their return windows closed. I'm not sure what went wrong.

Sort of like when you lose something and you finally buy a replacement for it. Then you find the original one the next day. That's the way it works for me most of the time.

I'm basically doing the same thing , with Android 15, a music player and Waze running on a large very responsive screen (about $139) in my center console. My guess is that AA and the key fob fix will not arrive in a useful timeframe.

I know it has not worked for some folks, but I have been fortunate enough to bring AA to my AT using a flgocexs dongle.

Annoyingly carlinkit has not been reliable lately. Have had to unplug or reboot vehicle too many times and embarrassingly wife took the car with friends and had problems with AA and mobile key. SMH. Not sure what's been going lately

My Carlinkit has also gotten more unstable, luckily rebooting it is pretty easy. I just get annoyed I have to unplug it when I get home, otherwise my phone will try to connect to it in the car all the time.

This only happens if I wake the car up with the app and I'm close to the car or if it's waking up because of proximity for sensing.

How's this dongle been for you? Reliable/quick? Any tricks needed to get it working? Just ordered one.
Wonder if I need to get this too now that carlinkit is buggier
Edit- eh just ordered it. I'll report back

Yup, basically walking around my house will wake up the car. The big annoyance for me is cell coverage at home is atrocious so I lose internet when this happens.

Yes...my Carlinkit has also stopped to auto-connect to my phone. I would have to unplug it from the USB-C cable and replug it to start AA almost everytime I get into my car.

It used to be so smooth to auto-connect...so I assume its probably some kind of recent updates (either Lucid, or my phone, or AA app) that screwed up everything. I also checked if there's an recent firmware update to the Carlinkit that may fix this and there is none so far

This is likely coincidence. It has done this in @TribbleTrouble’s Ioniq 5 pretty much half the time she’s had it. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn’t, with no predictability.

And yes, she uses it in the Ioniq 5 because the 2023 doesn’t have wireless CarPlay (and never will), and the only USB port that does CarPlay is *way* in the front of the car meaning you have a cable dangling between the passenger and driver seat at all times.

I'm finding I have to unplug and replug it in more often than I used to as well. Not as big a deal for me because I only use it for longer drives. 95% of the time, I just use the car's native software.
