With more and more vehicles being delivered, and as more and more new owners meet with and interact with service, I just wanted to post a friendly ask and reminder to remember that they are people too.

The service industry, in general, can be extremely rewarding when you interact with people who understand that you are operating in good faith and really want to help. But sometimes, your hands are tied, and while it’s fine to escalate or be upset, I think I’d just like to urge you all to remember to be kind.

You win more friends with kindness, you win more everything with kindness. Please remember the people on the other end of the comment, the email, the phone call, or the tirade… are people, first and foremost.

Push for what you feel is right; I’m not suggesting you roll over and be pushed around or anything else. But just try to do so with kindness, respect, and a realization that everyone is doing their best… and at present, still learning.

You can make a thousand arguments for whether this should or shouldn’t be or whatever. But it doesn’t matter. None of those arguments should circumvent the desire to be kind to your fellow human being. That’s all I ask and suggest. Just remember to be kind.

Please don’t troll this thread. I’m not looking to start a debate. If you don’t think you can or should be kind, okay. I’m not going to change your mind. This isn’t for you. This is for those who can sometimes forget to be kind, even when they want to be, myself included.

But if you don’t think you should… at least consider reflecting on why you believe kindness and empathy are unwarranted. You may surprise yourself.

Caring about people should not be controversial.

I leave you with a word from one of my heroes, Adam Savage. I agree with this wholeheartedly, and I hope you do too.

Thank you for posting this @borski, we should pin this for all eternity. Every Lucid employee I’ve encountered is seriously good and somebody you’d want selling or building or fixing your car, they’re on your side so don’t be an asshole.

Thank you gain for always being the way you are. You have brought much to this forum, and I, along with others, appreciate your calmness and reasoning.

This is great advice but not just for Lucid. This is great advice for life.

This is well-timed as I'm a new owner going through my first service experience and.... well I'll stop there for now. A good reminder. *deep breath*

Brilliant post, sad I missed it back on the 7th. I keep that Adam Savage clip in my head forever. It rings so true for me.

Everyone you interact with is a whole person full of emotion and backstory and issues just like you! Maybe they represent a company but they are a person just like you. In the rare instance that you do encounter someone in a service position who seems less than helpful, take a step back and remember this.
