Appreciate the level set of the forum I’m excited for Monday regardless.

I’m in the Austin area so hopefully a service center will open in the next few years to take care of the Austin/SA customers. But I have heard the Houston service center won a service technician award recently so that’s great to hear.

Gravities drive great; you'll love it. Most of the software issues have been worked out. Nothing killer in the software area IMO, they've done a good job catching up. You have to take comments on this forum with a grain of salt. Lots of frustration from early adopters and rightly so, but at times it gets over the top.

For those interested, the Dallas area should be getting a service center by year end which will help alleviate Houston's service centers backlog. It's amazing the amount of territory Houston's service center covers and when mobile techs can't fix something, it's sent to Houston.

I'm very happy to hear that. I just hope it's run well, since the difference service centers all seem to engender wildly different customer experiences.

Welcome to the forum.

Realize that a forum like this will always amplify the problems that arise. That is the nature of forums. People ask questions about the things that go wrong. If nothing goes wrong, then most folks really do not have much to say.

I'm 71 and have had a LOT of cars (16) over the years, plus a custom van, three pickups, a Class A motorhome, and three travel trailers. My Lucid AT is the first EV. Every one of those vehicles has had some kind of issues. Some more than others. I love my motorhome, but it costs a metric shit ton of cash to keep it going.

But my 2025 RAM 1500 and my 2026 Lucid AT are the only ones that have heavily relied on software for just about every aspect of their operations.

I have had some software issues with the Lucid. Things like XM radio not coming on or repeating. Electronic sensors for the turn signals showing faults but correcting themselves on a reboot. Doors not unlocking immediately. But nothing worth going to service for. I had a service call for the recall and for the OTA software update not working.

But on my 2025 RAM 1500 Tungsten I have had software issues that gave faults to the engine and drivetrain. Sensors throwing faults about the adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, etc. It had to be towed twice back to the dealership, once the next day after getting it, and then the next day after it was 'fixed' the first time. But I put up with that since it is such a nice truck and the seats fit so well. We tow it behind the motorhome for trips.

The Lucid is by far the nicest car I have ever had. Before that it was my BMW 550i and my wife's 535i. Love driving the Lucid. The acceleration, handling, the seats fit me perfectly, the interior is beautiful, and the exterior is so sharp. I love using the frunk, especially for groceries since I can unload closer to the kitchen door in the garage. I wish the cup holders were not so tight. I do all my charging at home, so my cost is just at 5 cents a mile. The BMW 535i we replaced with the Lucid was costing about 16 cents per mile back in December 2025 when we traded it. With the prices now it would be 20 cents per mile. Right now, my RAM is costing 29 cents per mile. BTW the motorcoach has cost 50 cents per mile over the five years and 129k miles I have had it. But right now it is very close to $1/mile.

Do not fret about all the negative postings. It is a beautiful car, and I am so very happy we bought it. It is actually my wife's, but I drive it daily as I do all the driving when we are going someplace together.

My parents live in New Hampshire for summer and are in Florida or Arizona for the winters—they have an RV and tow a trailer with 2 motorcycles in it. They also talk about the cost of running their rig but it sure as hell doesn’t stop them from traveling coast to coast in it.

Got pulled over the other day by Montgomery County Sherriff, no front license plate. I actually forgot about it. We bought ours in December and the plates finally showed up via FedEx in March, the afternoon before we left for a three-week trip in our RV. I put the rear plate on that night and we left the next day.

Called the service center here in Houston but it went to voice mail. I left a message asking for them to call me back to let me know when I can go and have them put the bracket on. It is in the trunk. They have not called me back in four days. Oh well, maybe I will just go there on Monday.

Just buy a front tow hook plate holder.

I am hoping to buy a CPO from Lucid sometime, but the experiences described in this thread are very discouraging. Has anyone bought a used Lucid through a third party dealership in TX, and if so, what has your experience been like in getting things worked on under warranty, if you bought a car with remaining factory warranty?

I am a happy second owner of my Air through a third party Lexus dealer.

The warranty of 4 years is valid for you, but the much longer 8- 10-year drivetrain and battery were very important to me.

Right now I am scheduled to have the early vehicle Defrost Heater Recall fixed, and the Service Center did not bat an eye. The history travels with the VIN so no worries.

Picking up my Gravity GT on Monday and just joined this forum. Was very excited until I got to the larger lucid forum and seeing a lot of negative talk RE: software issues. I’ve been a Mercedes owner for over 20 years and they weren’t perfect by any means. Needless to say I’m a little nervous. Short of some of the bugs you might face, what do you love about your Lucid?

Something to realize is that nearly all of the "discouraging" issues you hear about (I have had very few) will gradually disappear of time with over-the-air updates; buying a car that renews itself is different from in the past.

Welcome: you will love the power, luxury, handling, and status. (Of course the low cost of "fuel", too.)

I live in Houston area (Memorial area) and have not run front plate on my cars for 25 years and never been pulled over. Knowing Montgomery County politics, he probably pulled you over due to you being EV and just used the missing front plate as his excuse.

Doubt it. He was very nice and complimented my car. Gave me a verbal warning only. No ticket.

Since I got my Lucid, I am waiting for the day to be pulled over and get the typical cop "Do you know why I pulled you over?"

I plan on saying "Sure do! You like my car and wanted to get a closer look."

Finally became the owner of a Lucid Grand Touring Performance. I am located in Austin, and do not see many lucids on the road. Anyone around would love to do a coffee meet and discuss the cars.

Designed an AT and an AGT, waiting to hear from someone at Lucid to discuss. Wondering what support in Texas is like, I live in AUstin, saw a white Gravity driving around yesterday on Lamar, so i know someone is out there!

A bit nervous about getting it when it seems they are due a refresh for 2027, but might pull the trigger. I will be owning one soon though, of that i feel confident.

Welcome! Jason is our mobile service tech here in Austin, and is awesome but slammed right now. Once the Dallas service center opens, they've said they will be providing more help for him. Have an Air GT since 2022, and a gray Gravity GT since late last year.

So one of the people in Boston seemed misinformed that I could order a car. No orders being taken. However, found one close enough, put deposit down, yikes. Will need to wrap the platinum to make it stealth. Here hoping it goes well…

For anyone considering doing any "wrap" work (i.e. PPF, ceramic coating or window tinting) in Austin, I just got my AGT back from Xpel Austin and I'm really happy with the work they did. So shiny! They also have a lot of beautiful cars that they were working on so they seem quite popular. Obviously can't comment on the longevity of the work, but their warranty and annual ceramic checkins are good. All in with tax I paid $4210 for full front PPF coating and full ceramic coating with level 1 paint correction. It was not the cheapest when I called around Austin, but they appeared to be the most professional and less "one dude working out of a garage" than some of the other places I called. The biggest difference with some other places appeared to be in the ceramic coating, but then I learned other places were not including the paint correction in their quotes.

I really would have liked to get their "stealth" film on the whole car (it's a matte film that looks awesome IMO on the cars in their garage that had it), but alas I lost that battle with my partner.

This is an old post, i am looking into making my car have the stealth look since i can only get platinum with the glass canopy. Any newer recommendations, or still happy with this company?
