Air Version 2.9.0

The leak part was related to the fact that if it hadn’t been leaked, there would not have been the hubbub about “where is it and why don’t I have it yet”
I'm not sure I agree.

My awareness of 2.9.0 was not from the supposed "leak" which resulted in the release notes being posted for it, but from the release of the Lucid app update that also referenced 2.9.0.

That in and of itself would have still resulted in people asking "Okay, so when is 2.9.0 coming?"

That’s a fair point. I forgot they referenced it in the app notes. Touché.

Have you checked the 'About' tab on the pilot panel 'Settings' list? (The one where you do an Air logo reset.) I'm not sure why, nor whether it's the exception or the rule, but that's where I found an announcement that my car was ready for a wi-fi download. Not INSTALLATION, as is usually notified on the upper right screen, but DOWNLOAD. Follow that prompt, and the download will proceed, with the installation prompts following, as usual. This, to my knowledge, is the first time when DOWNLOAD did not happen automatically. Hope this helps.
I'll check, thanks!

It's not ideal, but according to previous posts, you will get it eventually even without Wi-Fi. They are just prioritizing Wi-Fi downloads (for whichever reasons) but they will release it to be downloaded to cellular-only vehicles.
Not surprising. A 5-6GB download is kinda of costly for cell data cost for the 20k+ Airs in circulation.

Lucid has made such announcements and sent such emails before, for major feature releases like this one, and you don’t have to go back to 2022 for it. It isn’t their first time, but it also isn’t consistent, which is why I agree with you.

Not to belabor the point, but let me belabor the point... My (possibly incorrect) sense is that Lucid's major release announcements were done more because it suited them for their marketing impact than as a service to the installed base. They would talk about the big features and fixes, but that's about it. If you can show me one such announcement which made it clear to the base that the roll-out had just initiated, and if it had any information to raise the base's awareness of how the roll-out would would work, and how long it would take, then I will gladly concede the point that this is not unique. Otherwise, I consider this to be a major shift in their approach, albeit with more to be done, and I very much applaud them for it.

Same as Tesla; after encouraging me repeatedly to connect to WiFi for the update, eventually it gave up and used cellular.

I’m still DOA over here. Car goes back in for service tomorrow maybe they can do it.
Let me know if service says anything about the failed installation(s) please 😫

Let's also not forget that cellular connectivity was supposed to be free for a limited time (first 12 months or something like that), yet Lucid still provides this for free. I haven't heard if they have changed course and are going to keep it free for Air/Gravity.

It has been reported that Teslas have two included cellular connections that are central to the car. It is their best interest to keep the car updated and the Mothership informed of how it is doing.

Update downloaded in less than an hour. (I have DreamDrive Premium, not Pro). I haven't noticed much difference so far, but only went on a couple short drives. I didn't have to re-sign into anything. Android Auto connected automatically.

I have an Air GT with DD Pro. I have noticed smoother, more decisive lane changes. Also, notice car accellerated a bit during a lane change to have more room for the lane change. Those are new behaviors since the 2.9.0 update.

I got the update. It failed and hasn’t been offered since. I’ll give it a few more days
Happened to me as well but was offered again in 3rd day and installed successfully!

Actually… that might be more about hive compute. When Tesla decides to harness the power of 100’s of thousands of Tesla ECU at the same time for mass calculation and compute power. There will be no super computer that can keep up!

The power test to be utilized by Tesla is mind boggling.

Not the end of the world but after a few days with the 2.9.0 i still get delays and problem messages on Sirius station acquisition through CarPlay. No change from my experience before the OTA.

This is such a weird question: but is the lane assist better after this update? It’s so embarrassing that our 4 year old Toyota has better lane assist than my dream drive! Maybe I should release myself from the burden of expectations.

OK, this really really sucks
My dream drive pro has completely stopped working after the update, there is zero steering assist in any mode, no lane entering nothing,

Also, the car seems to think I’m getting into. Crash every minute.

Worst of all, because this may become the new normal… the Blindspot red light flashing the dash now is on essentially all the time… Because realistically there’s always cars next to you, I wanna say for my drive today. It was on 70% of the time. my dash is constantly flashing red at me nonstop. It is driving me completely insane. I really hope this is not permanent,

Also, the Dash no longer shows an image from the camera once you put your turn signal on. How can so many things go wrong after an update. Everything was so stable for so long.

Is there any way to go back to a previous software?
