Air Version 2.9.0

Got updated 2 days ago. Have driven the car twice on short drives and another on a 50mile drive. So far, it seems like SiriusXM is more stable and there are less pauses even with poor cell reception.
Haven't noticed much else.
Backup and side view cameras still jittery.

Dolby Atmos works great with Tidal and the the 2.9.0 update. Great surround sound.
 
I live in a condo building and the underground garage does have WiFi. I connected the Air to the garage WiFi, lock the door and went up to my unit. But, I’m still getting the connect to WiFi notice on my phone app.

Does locking the door shuts off the WiFi? I really don’t want to sit in my car for over an hour just to download this. I have better things to do.

Doors open or closed. No issue. Is your garage WiFi behind a captive portal? If so, your car won’t connect to that.

Although specifically, I was asking more like locking the door and walk away...will result the car being in Long sleep/off. So I assume from your answer that even when they car is in sleep/off, the Wifi should still work for the download?

No.. The garage Wifi doesn't have any special firewall. Just a simple password to get login.

You should be fine. I did not stay with my car for the download. This is a large update so it may take a while.
 
Finally got my car updated, and all is good. Mine happened to coincide with doing my CCCv2 update, however, so I had to do a full manual restore of all my profile stuff, Bluetooth devices, settings, etc. So if any of that stuff would have been borked by the update process, I wouldn’t know.
 
Anybody else see the email notification from Lucid about the update? Seems like they're integrating Google Maps into the native nav software. It reads like they're still using Here for route planning, but Google for location metadata. I don't remember seeing this in the release notes. I haven't used the nav system since I got 2.9 so can't say I noticed any difference.

Edit: Looks like they updated the release notes with some new info since it'd been posted in this thread - Google integration requires CCCv2:

Did the update this morning with my 25 AT plugged in inside the garage. When I put in reverse to leave the garage a sudden loud clunk came from the rear wheel area, maybe right rear. As I backed up, a quieter clunking happened rhythmically with the tire revolutions, thought I might have a flat. Checked, no flat. Put in forward, still clunked. Got fainter and I think went away (or I got used to it). Anybody experience similar?

This is our Pure that had a weak WiFi connection outside our house. We could not get it closer to the router before Mrs. TakeDuo left for a 10 day work trip. I’m separated from this car by about 2,500 miles so can’t move it either.

The car tried to download since Saturday. The connection was just not strong enough. I’m assuming the “new software update” part of this references when the push for non-WiFi connected cars will receive it.

Just posting in case anyone else sees this in their app. Don’t panic and flood CS with calls!

This is common in vehicles that automatically engage the emergency brake when shifted into park, as most EVs do. Nothing to do with the software change.

Most likely the brake pad wasn't allowed to cool properly before making contact with the rotor, or humidity caused rust to form. In either case, the pad was stuck to the rotor because of one of those conditions, and once it broke free a bit of material was still stuck to the rotor which eventually dispersed which caused the gradually fading clunking noise.
 
Had the 2.9.0 upgrade. Used Navigation and appreciate the use of Google Maps API. I use Android Auto. Both top and bottom screens work pretty well on a 10 minute drive. I prefer the default Google maps voice instead of the current Lucid voice. (1st world complaint. I'll live with it). Haven't tested wife's Apple iphone connectivity. She always complained with connectivity after I had driven the car. I'll post my update if any issues.
 
@marqie Was this font change intentional? Seems odd that it doesn’t match any of the other display text

Can't say if that font changed or not. But I would really like it if the song title font would be the same size as the artist and the color was white. This is for XM radio.

Although the new Google API for searches is great (it can actually find my Tysons Corner Lucid Service Center), I have the same problem with Android Auto launching every time I get in the car and losing my music status which is actually the biggest s/w issue I have with the car now. I do want Android Auto as a back-up when I want a second opinion on traffic re-routing or finding a new, obscure location, but I prefer the larger Lucid navigation screens and better quality music through the native Lucid Tidal app. Even when I do use Google Maps or Waze with Android Auto, I use the native Lucid Tidal app for music to enjoy the best quality music with Surreal Sound Pro. The best I can do now is turn off the option for Android Auto to launch when my phone is locked so at least it doesn't cancel the native Tidal music status. However, now there is a prompt about Android Auto every time I get in the car I have to cancel out before doing anything else. I've reset the software, unpaired and repaired my phone and re-connected Android Auto with no change. The setting to launch Android Auto only if used in the last drive doesn't seem to have any effect anymore.

The update gone? No, I recently installed a whole slew of updates dating back to last summer. If they are available, you can get them...
 
I see over 60% of Airs on Lucid Tracker have already updated to 2.9.0. To me, that suggests the vast majority of cars have received the update push/alert. I know they said a couple weeks, but this rollout seems to have accelerated quite quickly since release started just four days ago. My Air has not received it yet (on WiFi all the time). Worth a call to Lucid or just sit tight? I’ve seen several say their updates failed but they at least were notified to update.

Anyone else still waiting for their update?
