Air Version 2.9.0

Why do I have to connect my car to WiFi to get my update, and why do I have to connect my Lucid ID to my vehicle, when it’s already connected?
Mine was already connected to wi-fi and I confirmed with customer care that it already downloaded and I am still getting the message to connect to wi-fi so I think its a bug in the update

Now that 2.9 has the 'Flatbed Transport' button working, I thought I'd look into it. Have you ever checked out Lucid's towing instructions? Unless you happen to be assigned Einstein Towing, with a 100% PhD staff, good luck getting your tow truck driver to read and understand the 'how to tow' novel in the Owner's Manual. Yikes! :-)
Mine gets hauled all the time. They just drive it on the truck and strap it down. I have to turn off the alarm or it just goes bananas all the way to service

Had a very strange episode today. My iPhone app asked to connect my 2025 AT (currently on 2.8.30) to Wi-fi to download an available update. It has never asked to do so before and all prior updates were over cellular. I connected the car to Wi-fi at home and for some time the app was showing that an update was downloading. After 15 to 20 minutes, that notification has disappeared and the app states again that the car is up to date on 2.8.30. Any possible explanations?

And looks like same has happened to some other folks here...
Same experience. For me the update started installing in about 15 minutes.

I am hoping this shows up for me, but I doubt it will. My AT has NEVER shown an update available since I bought it in December. Houston service center did an update to 2.8.12 back in January. Since then it states 'your software is up to date'.

Was at the service center last week and was told I had an update available and they would have service make it available by the next day. They texted me saying if it did not show up to reply to the text and they would go to 'PlanB'. I replied the next day, but no response. That was May 1st. Still nothing.

Could someone with 2.9.0 and CCCv2 check the limits of the new Google Places integration for me? I'd like to know if Google Places includes road/trail information, or just discrete places.
Searching for "Mobius Arch", you can easily see HERE's limitations compared to Google's:

Do the new maps in the car seem to have better road detail like Google's, or still just HERE's?
This is what it returned for me:

I don't know if it was part of this update, or a separate nav update, but I noticed now that when you have multiple waypoints, top screen now shows the ETA of the waypoint, instead of the final destination. Which is a nice change.

Thanks. Looks like the car is still using HERE maps' roads database. Half a step in the right direction though.

That's an option in Gravity's nav. Maybe it's now an option in the Air?

It may be associated with this update since the release note states:

“See the real driving distance to potential destinations, rather than estimates, to make more informed choices about where to go.”

I remember my last Audi’s fob was capable of opening and closing the windows. But only in the EU as well. I had to hack into my port to get it working on my car here.

I wonder if it’s some sort of weird US regulation thing?
In 2014, Tesla disabled the automatic window opening by holding the fob button after some guy opened his windows while sitting on his fob, getting the interior wet when it rained. They could have made it optional but it went away. Within the next few years, they repurposed the button press for summon. Go figure.

Putting resources into V2H is not the right thing to do right now. They need basic software to be rock solid. Yeah, I know they promised this and that, but, considering the EV climate, loss of credits etc, resources are not what they expected. I wouldn't get too hung upon it. Bigger fish to fry.
It depends on whether it's something that they hire specific people for with specific backgrounds or whether it's developers who can easily be reassigned to work on other projects. It could also come down to keeping the development team lean until there's more revenue. Regardless, it comes down to which new features would increase sales, or decrease frustration to lower defections. There are lots of things that many of us would like to see first, but if we aren't going to get a different car because of it and it won't impact sales, then it might not make sense for Lucid's priorities to align perfectly.

If you had your wi-fi off like me, you may have done so because your app would not reliably wake the car when it's turned on. After turning on my wi-fi, I was a bit surprised to find that this is still the case.
Hope this helps somebody...

My Wi-Fi was off. I don't recall ever turning it off. It might be that I did so because my app won't reliably wake the car when it's on. But it's not reliably waking the car when it's off.

Thanks very much for letting us know about the update, @marqie ! I received and installed the update last night and am already appreciating the improved utility of the Google search capability in the navigation. This is the kind of update to celebrate!

I turned on wifi a few days ago since this (an) update was imminent (no real change in how long it takes the app to connect to the car, which is almost never "fast"). I can see why they want wifi on (both for speed and the amount of cellular data times X# of cars they have to pay for), this morning it downloaded over 6 Gigabytes. Install went uneventfully.

Sending location to Nav does indeed work now, even though I generally use CarPlay for Nav (may use native more when UX 3 comes along, but will wait and see how it's implemented as I'm not a big fan of how it is now).

With only a short drive as a data point, not much else. SXM favorites were gone, no biggie putting them back. And, when I plugged in after I got home, it when to "charging scheduled" instead of doing it immediately since it's within 12 hours of my scheduled charging time (1 am). Release notes say that's 6 hours now, and that seems to be true. It's a change I like, as I prefer it start when expected, not based on a too large window after the scheduled time (no window or a user definable one would be my preference).

After installing 2.9.0 I still have the same issue of app requesting to connect Lucid ID to vehicle and for same reason it doesn’t want to share destination to the vehicle 😢. Any recommendations?

Will install now, but a huge change after they fired development team. I thought once that team is gone, we might not see an update for a long time. This is awesome update, we'll documented and addresses lot of things.
I believe they only removed software management, which is quite different. Many seem to share this misperception--happy to be corrected if wrong.

No, the native navigation still utilizes Here maps. The Google API just provides an enhanced (robust?) search functionality. We are looking to implement Google API for Gravity in a future release.
@marqie - other than trying out the "Better Places" search functionally on Lucid Assistant, is there another way to confirm the CCC version on my Air? I have a '24 AT built in April or May of 2024.

Will it restore all my car settings after signing back in?
