Air Version 2.8.30

Got the update a few days ago, went to meet a friend I hadn't seen a while for lunch and afterwards he wanted to check out the car. Went to open the frunk and it opened an inch or so and closed partially back up. Had to manually push toe frunk to relatch. Tried it again and still failed. It was nearly 100 today and the car was parked facing the sun so not sure if this is related to heat or not, will have to see when the car cools down in the garage and try a reboot if it still happens. Got the front camera / collision warning not working errors as well as I typically do in the high heat. How Lucid can sell these in hot climates and especially in Saudi Arabia is beyond me. And to top it off, someone had dinged rear quarter panel near the wheel well. Now I need to find a PDR guy!! Not a good day I'd say.
 
First off, to the Sapphire owner checking out my GTP today on Central Express Way in Mountain View—beautiful ride! I like your car, too!

I digress. I wanted to share some data and impressions after getting some seat time with software update 2.8.30.

The Setup & Conditions:
  • Trim: Grand Touring Performance
  • Wheels: 21" Aero Sport (with aero covers) on summer tires
  • Drive Settings: Smooth Mode / Standard Regen
  • Environment: 90°F ambient
  • Climate: AC running at 72°F (Fan speed 2)
  • Trip Distance: 11.2 miles
  • CCC Version : CCCv2
The Results:
  • Efficiency: Pulled 4.42 mi/kWh. I am now easily achieving or exceeding EPA estimates, even while running the AC in hot weather. (Attached picture for reference, please ignore the dust particles, my OCD is killing me too)
  • Regen / Throttle Pedal Mapping : In standard regen the deceleration via Regen is significantly smoother from throttle lift off achieving world class epa miles per kwh efficiency!
  • ADAS/Sensors: A lot fewer false-positive radar and sensor warnings. The over-sensitive braking while reversing near parking curbs also seems to be resolved.
  • Driving Dynamics: There is a highly noticeable improvement in throttle mapping and response in Sprint mode with standard regen setting. The car is significantly faster off the line, and the pedal travel feels much more direct. It feels clear that the 2.8.30 OTA included some solid VCU and powertrain calibration updates to refine the torque delivery curve.

This looks like another update limited to certain vehicles, possibly only those equipped with DDPro. We are left to guess and speculate as the release notes lack any useful information. My 2026 AT with DDPremium is still on .16 and indicates it is up to date. Would be nice to know if OTA updates are working properly for our vehicles or if there is a potential issue that requires a trip to the service center.

I have a pure, 2026. DD premium. Just updated to this version.

I have this same issue. First time it happened it broke off a piece of the plastic from silver piece with the lucid logo. I got that replaced by service and they mentioned they adjusted the frunk alignment to prevent this from happening, but it still happens in hot weather. There seems to be a misalignment issue still around the left side and I can put my fingers in there while my wife pushes the button to open frunk to help clear it from hitting against the lip of that silver bar. I plan to have service look at it again next time I bring it in.
 
FWIW... It would be far more helpful to the forum members if you would create a new thread about this trunk latch issue instead of having it buried in this software thread.

And with all the coolant pump issues too, they need a redo or something on a lot of the issues. At least they got the AC figured out

Upgraded to 2.8.30 last night. On my morning drive DDPro would not go into Hands-Free Drive Assist. Stayed in Drive Assist the whole time. If it happens on the way home tonight, I'll do a logo reset. Just curious if anyone else having this behavior. I have a 22 Air GT with CCV2 upgrade. Thanks!

I installed the update a few days ago. With DDPro I also can not get to Hands-Free Drive Assist on the same route it has worked reliably in the past. My car has had a few nights of deep sleep as our garage is underground and well away from our key fobs and phones. Still can’t access Hands-Free.
 
I downloaded it 2 days ago
Hands free assist working normally with no issues at all.
All systems working as before
 
I have not got 2.30 yet. I also didn't get 2.17. I am still on 2.16 and it is pretty good I find...
 
Either my car just needed yet another night’s deep sleep, or my posting of the lack of Hands-Free Drive Assist being available shamed my car into better behavior. Today, the Hands-Free Drive Assist worked perfectly for me. Fingers crossed it continues.
 
Updated to 2.8.30 yesterday. And immediately , mobile key stopped working ! Like, completely. I have never had an issues with mobile key since I bought the car 11 months ago. Not good. Hard reset didn’t solve it. Rebooted phone. Didn’t work. Let it fall asleep for a couple hrs. No dice.

What’s more, my key fob would not automatically open the car. Even though the car setting was correct to allow passive unlock. The key fob did manually open and lock the car though. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Had to unlock via app, then use PIN to drive.

I eventually removed both the key fob and mobile key from the car. Removed the car from my phones Bluetooth and I re-paired the entire set. Still didn’t fix it.

I finally started to charge the car at home. And suddenly, the mobile key unlocked the doors. And the problem went away.

Has to be related to 2.8.30 given the timing. Anyone else have this issue come up?
 
After reading comments on this thread, Lucid with every new release .... "We Break Fix It. And they are two different things... We Break what's working and fix something we broke last time." 🤣😂🤣😄
 
I love the irony that the update is to improve false alerts and the very first thing that happens after installing is a false alert while backing into my (wide) driveway with a vehicle on the side. Why the irony? I have done this same exact maneuver hundreds of times in my Air and never got a brake alert with a slammed stop.
 
Radio sound quit working after update both android auto and regular FM radio. I plays for about 2 seconds then stops. As I have said in the past Great Car terrible service. Can't wait to dump this pig.
