I recommend this if you don't want to run a long wire. I use it for my radar detector.

I bought something similar on Amazon for $8 and it works fine with my Uniden R8. Just make sure you order the male USB-A. There are reports that the male USB-C adapter and port doesn't put out enough power for radar detectors even though the female cigarette is rated at 12V.
