Lucid Air Touring
I got my car five days ago and let me start by saying I absolutely love the car and customer service has been a delight to work with (even if they have not been able to solve my issues). That said, I'm really surprised to experience the following issues right out of the gate:

1. My phone won't link as a mobile key. I've spoken to Lucid CS a bunch of times and they are now setting up a service call. It's a really strange issue and it likely has something to do with the App.
2. All of a sudden easy access stopped working today (It was working until today so I have no idea why it suddenly stopped working)
3. At times I get a message that no key has been found even though the key is in my pocket and the car seems "talking" to the key
4. When it rains, I get the "LIDAR not working message" and the triangle with an exclamation point (this is a known issued discussed in this forum).

While I recognize that the above issues are not overly substantial, a $100k car should work as advertised. This is particularly a bummer because the closest service center is 90 miles away. Hopefully they will be able to resolve all of this.

It's not perfect. Anyone who says it is perfect is lying. But it's really good and getting better.

The only specific issue of yours that I might be able to explain is that the fob connection to the car is very touchy and they will lose the connection if the key is not in an open area of the car. I've had it lose connection in my right front pocket if my hand is on my thigh covering it. There's much info on this type of thing on the forum.

3 and 4 are no big deal. All of us get those. They do not affect the functionality of the car at all.

What do you mean by 'easy access?' Are you talking about the handles auto presenting as you approach, or when the seat goes back and down upon opening the door?

I completely agree re 3&4 - don't care about those at all. In terms of easy access, I mean the seat and steering wheel moving when I get in and out of the car. It worked perfectly until today and then suddenly stopped working. They had me do both types of resets to see if that could get the mobile key working - it didn't - and it seems as though the easy access stopped working after that. I did some trouble shooting with CS, but they ultimately had to put in a service request.

Have you tried resetting again after the seat stopped moving? If so, you might need what they call 'seat rehoming' to fix the easy entry.

Pace yourself. This is just the start :)

Yes, I did the Air logo reset and also the steering wheel/brake reset but neither fixed it. Hopefully the rehoming fixes it. The failure to be able to link the mobile key is particularly frustrating. It would be one thing if it were just my phone, but it won't work with my wife's phone either.

Dumb question but your phone has given the Lucid App access to Bluetooth etc.?

Bluetooth permission should be enabled for the Lucid App
Locations services should be set to "Always Allow" & "Precise Location"

No key found could be low battery on key fob.

No question is dumb and I'll take all suggestions. It does have BT permission and is set to Always and Precise. It actually sees the car during the pairing process and I am even able to select "Pair: on the phone, but as soon as I hit "continue" on the car's pilot screen, the app immediately closes. The process finishes in the car and it says linking was successful, but in the phone app it still shows it as unlinked.

Re Negan's comment of a potential low battery in the fob, that's unlikely bc it's only 5 days old. I think the message above about it being blocked when in my pocket is right though. I really want this mobile key to work though.

Just make sure nothing is lingering in the car and phone. Could have half set itself up and now causing issues. Check out @Bobby's video here to give you some guidance \ step-by-step

Thanks for the link. I’ve actually done all that a bunch of times but to no avail. Also, I get the exact same behavior and linking fails with my iPhone, my wife’s iPhone and my iPad. CS was baffled and so they are setting up a service appointment.

It's unlikely but still very possible. if you do use the fob, you'll want to replace the battery every 3 months or so. Buy an inexpensive stack of name-brand CR2032 cells without bitterant coating on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01418S5HG?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_3&th=1

The key fob of my Touring kept going through batteries like crazy, the two crap batteries that came with the car were both drained in about two weeks. I got a 12 pack of Duracell CR2032’s, those last much longer. Also, I now keep the fob in a $20 small faraday box from Amazon when not in use, so the car cant communicate with it 24/7 and drain the battery. Those two things solved my fob issues

Same here. I keep the fobs in faraday bags when not in use, and get 3-6 months from a set of non-bitterant Toshiba CR2032. Frankly the fobs work great for us - it's easier to click the fob to open trunk or frunk than to take out a phone, open the app, and squint a bit to find the correct app button to press.

Question: I’ve decided that I’m going to try and start from scratch. I’ve reset the network settings on my phone, deleted the phone and mobile key from the car and deleted both the CarPlay Bluetooth and the mobile key Bluetooth. So, when I set it all back up does it matter what order I set up CarPlay and the Mobile key, i.e., should I set up one before the other?

I wouldn't think it would matter. I would set the mobile key up first, tho, and on my Lucid, it works perfectly. You also need to make sure Bluetooth is enabled 24/7

shouldn’t matter but I’d do the mobile key first
