We will have to see the Cyber truck specs. Ram has posted the REV with 500 miles of range. 500 miles of range even at 75% real world at first thought would be enough to consider over my ice truck. When you consider this range is not due to efficiency, but a massive 229kWh battery, the realities of level 2 charging when off the beaten path set in.

The problem is if you’re away from DC charging with a 229kW hour battery. To go from 20% to 100% is going to take 20 hours at 40amps and 9.6kW from 50 amp breaker.
It’s not uncommon for hotels to be at 7kW and then it would be 25+ hours.
With the Lucid you can make it work and charge overnight pretty easily, even at 7kW. The big truck battery will be fine if you have access to a 14-50 and are staying a few nights with limited miles during the day, but trying to do point to point with overnight charging in RV spots or hotels your going to need to plug in by 6pm and plan on a noon departure and you still might not be at 100%.

Anyone unhappy with charging times with 80-118kWh battery is really going to be unhappy with something over 200kWh.

This is why Peter talks so much about efficiency. And why he thought any EV truck was a bad idea with the current state of battery tech.

He's right, of course. Scientifically. But the market wants what the market wants.

This is why you buy a Lucid for road tripping and a Rivian for around town!
