3.3.9 Post update

I've had my Black GGT since September 30th. Love the car. Can't get anywhere near 450 miles of range, even driving speed limits—usually 390 or so. The charging speed on a 250 kWh Tesla Supercharger or other DC fast charger is truly impressive. 15 minutes usually. The glitchy software is getting old, though. Spouse mused about it yesterday....."I don't like this car"......was the response. I mentioned its ride, quietness, appointments, etc. The response was, "yeah, love that, but it's like every ride there's another issue and not always the same thing". It's mine, so no biggie, but this is how it's viewed by many. None of the issues are deal breakers to me. Reading this forum since last winter convinced me to take the plunge, knowing it will get better over time, just as the Air did, and just as my 2018 Model X did (sold it). Just have to count on Lucid's software engineers to do it well, do it fast, and do it often. Haven't had a fob issue since early October. The wake-up of the screen is way too slow. I could jump in my Tesla, and by the time I buckled my seat belt, I could pull on the stalk and back out. Not with my GGT. I have to sit there for 15 or more seconds for the screens to boot up and all of the icons appear on the panel before it will recognize my pulling it into reverse. Once I came out to the car and the drivers seat was laying flat down, as has been mentioned here. Hasn't happened since.

I'm interested in trying to find out if the camera quality is a hardware issue, or if it's just that the software is overly compressing the video feed, and future software updates might improve it. Has anyone already looked into that? If not, I may start reaching out to people on the engineering side of Lucid and seeing what they say. I've found that some of them have been very responsive when I've sent a question to them in the past.
please do. For me, they appear like they're old school television resolution....grainy at best. Night they're pretty much useless.

Like others initially things were smooth. Then came a drive where it couldn’t detect the fob. Then the next drive the black screens…

still dont get 3.3.9 offered to update but on the other hand I have never had any issues like what people describe with fob not detected or black screens, so rather not touch a running system unless there are actually new features ...

I felt the same.
Eventually did update.

Had one day of fob not detected.
Turned out to be low battery level, not the update. Screens seemed to load faster, now they load about like before update, which was good.

You could wait for 4.0.0 and then update 3.3.9 and 4.0.0, but what if 4.0.0 introduces a new bug? Wait for 4.1.1? 😀

For me, 3.3.9 has generally been ok, albeit with one bad episode. No major fob issues, although I consistently get shake-to-wake warnings if I sit in the car for longer than 30 seconds in P. The screens generally turn on when I approach the car, blink black for a second or two, and are then ready to go.

The one episode/exception happened earlier this week when the screens stayed black as I got in the car. I could still shift into D and was in a hurry, so I started driving. It look ~15 mins for the screens to come on during the drive and things were going a little bonkers when they did. GPS was frozen, blind spot cameras didn’t work, the software buttons on the climate screen were flashing on/off, steering wheel buttons were unresponsive, etc. Things went back to normal after a hard reset and a 15 min sleep. Definitely disconcerting though, especially with service appointments backed-up for weeks.

I came across a few issues, but I'm pretty sure I had at least some of those in earlier versions too.
- The small pop up screen showing what's currently playing just disappeared in the middle of playing something from Spotify and wouldn't reappear - I expect soft reset will fix it.
- I wasn't able to change distance from the car in front of me when using Drive Assist. Nothing would show for me when pressing left and right buttons - soft reset?
- Sometimes if I leave my car and lock it for a short period of time (1 minute) I would come back to a persistent black screen which wouldn't recover even after couple minutes requiring a reboot.

I too have had the blank screens after only 1 minute of sleep, and take several minutes to wake up. Conversely, after leaving the car for an extended period of sleep I’ve had the car boot up quickly upon return. It’s counter-intuitive. I guess the car wakes up quickly once it has had enough rest.

last night needed to jiggle the fob after getting in car, then homeland wouldn't trigger when I pressed the button on screen after getting home.

I realize I haven't rebooted on 3.3.9.... and it's been a minute now.

Had the car for 2 days and I’ve had to hard reset 2x on 2 separate outings due to not waking up from deep sleep. Also had an issue with 4 wheel steering having an error; cleared itself after arriving to my destination and locking the car and coming back to it an hour later.

happens from time to time ...

Is there anybody else out there who doesnt get 3.3.9 to update? I still cant ....

My USB mounts 95% of the time but hitting record you just get a spinning circle and if you press the horn etc. it won’t trigger a recording. In the 3.3.5 days it was probably “works 90% of the time and fails 10%” now it’s “fails 90% of the time and works 10%”

I reported it to Lucid so will wait and see I guess. Good luck to them making this a paid subscription in future if updates are going to break it.
is it usb-c, what size do you use, what version of USB is it and which usb port do you plug it in to?

It's USB-A and the port is located in the back on the glovebox

I installed 3.3.9 and now I’m getting all these issues. Then again, I only had 3.3.8 for half a day since I just picked up the car on Friday…
What issues? The only consistent thing I'm seeing in 3.3.8 & now 3.3.9 is that Halo Secure just refuses to work in the car.

Don't sweat it too much, you would have had the same issues with 3.3.8 and will likely still have them with whatever comes next.

1. Car showing offline in app
2. Had to hard reset due to black screen / fan blowing 100% upon entry
3. 4 wheel steering disabled randomly
