3.0 on Air

i'm not going to reply to everything as it's going to be circular

but i'll reply to this part just for a data point: all service centres told me that if the car is still driveable and not essential to the "driveability" of the car, then i have to drive it in and it cannot be towed as it would be too expensive for them.
Perhaps @marqie can attempt to help escalate. But, I assure you, DDP not working at all is almost certainly a warranty issue related to hardware, and your car can absolutely be towed for warranty issues if you live 9 hours away. I’m sorry you’ve not gotten good treatment.

I tried...multiple times at multiple service centres. and nhq ignores my request.

Honestly, I had a similar experience in terms of slow responses. I did have to sort of hunt someone down. But they totally helped. I definitely would not accept that. And my issue was cosmetic, not a drivability issue.

hell...my DDPro has never even worked. Multiple calls, emails with proof (photos/videos) to NHQ, a couple of service centres...and nothing. They receive the info and I get ghosted. It's an absolute joke.

I took a chance and as much as I love driving the car, the software and support has made it so i won't be heartbroken when I change and will not come back to lucid.
Thank you for sharing. I am sorry to hear about your experience. I just sent you a DM.

There are few valid reasons in this discussion, but most of it should be handled with a quiet exit. Maturing is realizing that being "right" isn't worth your sanity. Give them the win, give yourself the freedom, and close the chapter for good. Some battles aren't meant to be won; they're meant to be outgrown.

One thing I haven't seen mentioned in this thread (could have missed it): my understanding is that UX 3.x for Air will require the CCCv2 (either originally built with it as in newer years, or upgraded).

I would expect that UX 2.x may be limited in the future to high priority bug fixes for this Airs that to not get the upgraded computer.

Considering everyone has the ability to upgrade to CCCv2, I would expect 2.0 to hit a point of acceptable stability and left behind. You don’t really see a lot of car companies working to upgrade the software on older models. The fact that Lucid even gives an option to upgrade the infotainment system is pretty generous

Any news on this CCCv2 upgrade using loyalty points?

Very possible. I have been told they realligned some service centers too. Mine is now like 10 hours away. Not sure how that's gonna work

I keep checking but have not seen or heard anything.

Them Lucid accountants are working on it night and day! :-) Coming up on two months since Nick Twork made the announcement. Meanwhile, the CCCv2 continues to happily reside in the $$$ store just fine.

This is what I was looking for. I'll be updating my chip soon but I've been holding out all hope for the powers to be to offer it in the rewards store before I'm forced to shell out the cash. I still have 100,000's of thousands points worth over 1.3M in store credit that I still need to use and have nothing to use them on.
I have received two emails from Lucid informing me that you do not need the new chip to get UX3.0

Can you post the emails? I'm scheduled to have CCV2 installed in June, but really don't need it except for compatibility with UX3.0.

Here is one, looking for the other one and will post. From Customer Care. I was an original Lucid Air GT customer. Ordered it in 2021 and waited a long time for it. After 5 years with the Air GT, love the car but the software has never materialized as promised. Lots of things negate the great car: software slow coming to fruition, extra charge for NACS adapter, extra charge for new chip, etc. I understand growing pains of new company but I, along with many of the original Lucid Owners Forum members, paid over $154k for a car now worth about 45k. Bitter pill to swallow but somewhat tempered by a great driving vehicle. My spouse has a Tesla with FSD and it is so far superior to my Lucid. Just wish Lucid would catchup soon because it is a much better vehicle overall.

There is a hardware update available on the infotainment system but its more of a processing power update to my understanding. I believe that is the $950 you may be referring to for an update.

Thanks for being part of the Lucid Family.

After "ordering" the chip upgrade when it was first announced, I was finally able to get it last week! The one thing that I've noticed is that Android Auto loads up in an instant. On a sidenote, my Touring was throwing a whole bunch of error codes while DDP was engaged. I noticed this about 3 updates ago. Daniel (Lucid tech) had me sit in my car; he instantly noticed that my steering wheel was too high. He said the face camera was just above the steering column. The high position blocked my face from the view of the camera. Once adjusted, all is well.

This is the first vehicle I've ever owned that IMPROVED since ownership. I can honestly say I'm enjoying my Touring as much if not more than when I made the purchase. I can't say that about any previous vehicle. I still get the willies when I see the steering wheel turning by itself with DDP when rounding a curve on the highway; not sure if I'll ever get comfortable with that. Old dogs sometimes have trouble learning new tricks. FWIW. Can't wait for the improvements when 3.0 rolls around but I will bet there will be hiccups with 3.0 and 3.0.1 will roll out within a short time after 3.0 release. We will always be beta testers lol!

Honestly, it’s generous to offer the ability to upgrade rather than only giving new cars this update. $945 is a lot less than a new Lucid.

I hesitated to start my comment on my disdain for the additional costs to keep my $154k Lucid up to date. Obviously, I understand that software updates may require newer hardware. My whole point was that I have never achieved the functionality that Lucid promised me when I first purchased the vehicle. I totally understand new hardware since I update my electronics pretty often but Lucid has never met the features they promised originally.
I sincerely hope this ends this segment. There are more important issues to discuss on this forum that my personal issue. Thanks

Yeah, Tesla and Rivian should have taught everybody that you should never ever buy a promise. By what actually exists at the time of purchase

You could buy an interior car cover in the Lucid store with your points. I'd pay $200 cash 😀
