Mercury is historically one of the low-cost providers. 40 years ago, my State Farm agent kind of sneered at them. Maybe he couldn't get enough commission to sell it?

Installed exoshield on windscreen, raised deductible to 2.5k, including glass. After roughly 2 years of no claims, I’ll come out ahead of having a $500 deductible with zero on glass even if I pay 2.5k deductible for a claim.

I was thinking that was an amazing rate, until I realized you're not in California.

State Farm sneers at everyone, lol! I believe Mercury, GEICO & Progressive have all had sneering from the likes of Farmers and State Farm over the years due to them often being significantly cheaper. To its credit, Mercury was the only one that would consider insuring my home after Progressive dropped me and everyone else just outright refused due to fire risk.

One thing is clear in this thread though, it seems insurance companies just pluck a number out of thin air. The Air GT and Gravity fully loaded are very similar in price yet the premium carries a $1000 difference, makes no sense.

Ouch! I had been thinking I was getting off lightly, until I got my auto policy renewal in my email today. That’s a $600 per annum increase. I’ve made only one claim (Comprehensive) in the three years I’ve owned the car. And that comprehensive claim was in regards to replacing my rear windshield and ergo almost my entire glass roof, and trim pieces. My rear windshield cracked for no discernible reason. Rather than fight with Lucid and my auto detailer and tinter to cover an $8000 job, I took it on the chin and had the replacement work done using my comprehensive coverage.

Here's mine. Given the details, it's really not that bad or unexpected. I just feel horrible when I have to send them the premium.

Note: 1 driver. 1 male (68) with 0 accidents and tickets, multiple policies w/Allstate including an Umbrella Policy which dictates what car insurance coverage has to be

Many of the quotes here are hard to tell if it is a bundled policy: Car, auto, home (w/ earthquake ins.) and umbrella, which could make a difference on coverage and thus pricing, especially if you have an umbrella policy. I am sure being married gives you a break as being single you are considered more of a risk because as a 68 year old male I am always out there looking for that next car race to land me in jail :), NOT.
