Mercury is historically one of the low-cost providers. 40 years ago, my State Farm agent kind of sneered at them. Maybe he couldn't get enough commission to sell it?

Multiple Car Policy Discount : YES
Collision Deductible : $2500
Comprehensive Deductible : $2500

Installed exoshield on windscreen, raised deductible to 2.5k, including glass. After roughly 2 years of no claims, I’ll come out ahead of having a $500 deductible with zero on glass even if I pay 2.5k deductible for a claim.

I was thinking that was an amazing rate, until I realized you're not in California.

State Farm sneers at everyone, lol! I believe Mercury, GEICO & Progressive have all had sneering from the likes of Farmers and State Farm over the years due to them often being significantly cheaper. To its credit, Mercury was the only one that would consider insuring my home after Progressive dropped me and everyone else just outright refused due to fire risk.

One thing is clear in this thread though, it seems insurance companies just pluck a number out of thin air. The Air GT and Gravity fully loaded are very similar in price yet the premium carries a $1000 difference, makes no sense.
