I got into my car this morning and got my first OTA since I got my 25 Touring (that I didn’t have to call CS and ask for lol)

Car came with 2.5.4 and CS was able to push 2.6.1 to me about two weeks ago, so was surprised to see this come up and not see any info posted on it yet. Looks like just a bug fix, albeit a pretty important one from a safety standpoint.

Was super quick, about fifteen minutes to install.

on my planet.. a version 2.6.2 would come after version 2.6.11. .......but okay, i'll take it. I have to stand beside my car for 20sec every time I want to enter it because the mobile key connection is a disaster... and this update is to PREVENT doors from opening. What could go wrong?

I guess I'll wait with the installation to make sure this update doesn't screw up the unintended things...

This update was unusual as it did not let you put the car into drive or reverse until after it was installed. I got to my car and had to leave it at home or I would have been late to work. Glad I had another car to take today.
What the hell? My wife is driving the car today, she will freak out if she can't drive away.

Never had the issue but installed today regardless

Probably typo mistake... Should they meant 2.6.1.1. I'm on 2.6.1 and it would make sense as a fix on "(very rare) problems" reported after installing an updates as it happens most of the time (lol). There is noting new, just a fix, for what I understand. Because it is a safety issue, they have to make sure every car has it. My 2 cents.

My 2024 Air Touring received the update notice while I was parked at the airport and I had no problem driving it back home before accepting and installing the update. There was no obvious difference in the car during a 20 mile ride after the update either. Maybe some cars are more prone to this safety problem than others depending on production dates?
It would be great to know more about what they actually changed to resolve this potential safety issue in case something does seem different.
Overall, it was a quick and simple OTA update with no apparent impacts to my ownership experience aside from using the app to postpone installation so I could drive immediately. then initiating the install while I was home for a few minutes in the afternoon. Our 2024 Lincoln SUV needs a free mobile service visit every time there’s a similar safety-related update (3x since Spring 2024). I much prefer the Lucid approach.

Thank you. I just did the install, hopefully she won't get any surprises tonight when she leaves the office.

That wasn't my experience. I had no problem going to/from Starbucks and then QT this morning with the update pending.

Mine showed up when I got in the car this morning. I hit the "Remind me Later" button, and installed it when I got to work. This is the first time anyone has said an update affected the car before it was installed.

In some "software circles" 2.6.11 is similar to 2.6.1.1. You'll see this with some Microsoft products and the like, as they're more alphabetic than numeric in-nature.
Happily installed "after" my trip today. I plan on giving an Air-Logo reset as usual for stability's sake soon. I usually do one every Sunday now and it's far less glitchy. I suspect the front-end of the displays may be in Java and some of the modules may have memory-leaks, not giving back some bytes here and there. I think the back-end might be C or maybe Rust (semi-ironic) or Assembly as it's incredibly far more stable. Case-in-point the climate controls continue to work, drive effort, ABS, traction-control, all digital, work astoundingly well. Screens glitch-out fairly often, Nav, Sirius XM, Pilot Panel, etc. A tale of 2 program languages I think.
Wish there was a 5-band EQ though. (Singing "Somewhere Out There" from An American Tale.).

Welcome to the world of semantic versioning of software...
