Alright, have a grand touring and crossed 16k miles including a 2k+ road trip and wanted to share my thoughts. To start, I wanted to say I don't mind beta testing products, in fact, I kind of enjoy it. But I don't want to be an alpha tester and will generally not be the first one to get something.

Ordered the gravity in November 2024, always thought I would cancel the order until I took a test drive. Once I got to drive it, I knew I really wanted the car. Kept the order, waited for the HUD to be available (in hindsight I wouldn't get the HUD based on where it is right now) and took delivery in November 2025. Came from a Model X and a Model S before that and really liked those cars as well. What I loved about my model S was that I felt it was the most functional car, while being fast and the most efficient at the time. The newer models seem to have lost some of these traits. I used fsd all the time and figured that would be one thing I would really miss (I now tell my kids the Tesla is the best car not to drive, while the Lucid is the best one to drive). Had some minor early issues including quick dying key fobs, random sensor alerts, and frunk opening issues. All were forgivable given how well the car drove. I was particularly pleased with the basic dream drive functions on the highway and considered them to be comparable to Tesla circa 2019ish, which I felt was reasonable. I had 2 minor rattle issues that were fixed promptly by mobile service. I didn't like the navigation software originally and felt it was just missing a lot of places. Additionally, I did feel like I had to reset the car fairly frequently, but again, something I didn't mind given how well it did everything else. I definitely would not have given the car to my wife as I would have been concerned about the complaints when something just didn't work as expected.

Fast forward to 3.6, almost all my issues were addressed. No more real sensor issues, no frunk issues, drives wonderfully, and resets required are now are minimal. The Google search integrated into the navigation really helped , though I use Android auto/car play a lot less than I thought I would. Took a 2k+ road trip and was ecstatic with the car to the point that I just felt the model x didn't compare any more despite the fsd, free supercharging, etc. The range and flexibility this car provides with the driving dynamics are just unparalleled. On road or off road on the trip, I was l confident in the ability of the car. Functionally the car is just awesome. The amount of stuff we can haul is truly impressive. We enjoyed July 4th fireworks while sitting in the frunk on the road trip. The efficiency and driving dynamics for a car this large is just ridiculous and just had me in awe during the entire trip. Every time I pull up next to an Escalade on the road now I literally think to myself, wow this car can do pretty much everything the escalade does, just so much better/more efficiently. At this point I would easily recommend to family members without concerns about complaints. Sure, there are still some occasional issues like dream drive will occasionally drop out, but overall it works. I have never owned a perfect car and can tell you I never will, but this is the happiest I have been with a car and one that I most enjoy driving.
 
My wife and I feel the same way. We have played computer games together for most of our married life, so there were no little Gravity bugs that bothered her. If you can work around it or reboot to clear it, she just rolls with it. Totally worthwhile to drive a car with this power and presence. With each month the OTAs have made the bugs subside and made the car better and better. The day she did her first hands-free self-driving I saw her face light up. So, so much to love about this vehicle. We look forward to driving it for years to come.
 
Thank you for sharing this feedback. There are many potential Lucid buyers in these forums. I have seen in other car forums that Lucid is being referred to as a dumpster fire and that we all have Stockholm syndrome. We know that is far from the truth. My air is the best damn car I've ever had. As we know, negativity gets all the press and feeds a narrative. But I know there are far more very satisfied owners than dissatisfied ones.

The Gravity is the damn best vehicle ever made, now, if only those " look at me" youtubers stop posting useless trash about Lucid. They get a small rattle and suddenly they have to let the whole world know. Or cupholders are " too tight"- and you end up measuring the force needed to take out a can of soda...its the stop the drinks from falling over- duh....

Hopefully Gravity will gain traction and get the admiration it deserves. I still can't get why " non-offroaders" would buy a Rivian?

Whatever crusade you’re on again Jason, I’d ask that you please stop. You have made us all well aware what you think of his channel, and you now post it on every related or unrelated thread, as often as you seem able to.

Please stop. We get it, you don’t like his channel. You don’t have to watch it.

But please stop telling us about it.

100% agree. I tell everyone that this is the best car I have ever driven. Puts my 2018 Model S to shame.

I have minor software gripes about having settings save to the profile as opposed to the car, but I'm sure it will get addressed.

It’s not just that engineering guy, it’s the constant minor “look at me complaints” from a few others. Anyone dramatizing nonsense complaints on YouTube to get clicks deserves that hate.

Imagine how many people he dissuaded from enjoying such magnificent vehicles, just so he can be more popular. The self conceit is unfathomable!

I agree with and share the positive experiences of those on this thread. Amazing vehicle, so much more advanced than what I’ve had before in Tesla in many ways (FSD aside). And just a commanding presence on the road.

I don’t think Lucid has marketed this to the right audience. And threads like this should be elevated to their marketing team and shown to the prospective buying audience somehow. They need to know! While some are on this forum, most are not.

Lately it does look like Lucid's marketing has shifted. There's been a particular focus on posting short-form content with emphasis on the family practicality, at least on their social media
 
Ours has been great as well. Every time I see it, I'm thinking about the next time I'll drive it.
 
Yeah, our Gravity Grand Touring has been rock solid since software version 3.6.0 has been installed. Prior to that the key fob was really hit or miss and there were a few other annoyances but since 3.6.0 things have been great and I haven't hesitated to drive the Gravity.
 
@kkumar99 thanks for a positive post. At the risk of being called a fanboy I can't resist piling on. The Gravity is amazing. Best car I ever owned and I've owned some very nice cars. We haven't needed service and haven't had any glitches so of course we think it's great. Obviously, that hasn't been everybody's experience. It's really too bad Gravity got off on the wrong foot but then faults are not uncommon in new models, especially those that try to be cutting edge like Gravity. It hurts worse that some of the pain was self-inflicted. Most of us who are driving Gravitys were willing to be beta-testers. It would be really interesting to have real facts and data to evaluate just how good and/or bad people's experiences have been in a more quantitative way and how Gravity compares with other vehicles in that regard. Do facts even matter in a "post truth" world? Hard not to wonder.

I generally like his content and I'm sad his experience was so terrible, but it doesn't seem like him to continue piling on hate.
Did I miss something?
 
I could have written close to the same thing -- I sorta did offer a short 1 year retro on my "1000 miles" post. :)

I keep seeing a handful of serious customer service fails, but other than that it seems like Lucid has finally hit their stride with the Gravity. Looks like we're finally out of the "beta test" period after a year!
