Key not found frequently - requires passcode

I’ve had similar issues. I thought that my wallet (with RFID blocking) was the problem, and tried carrying my key card in my pocket, but not only did it not fix the issue, I lost my card. That was a $110 mistake. So, even with the fib in my pocket, I have recently been getting the prompt to...

If you are on the fence between deciding between Tesla and Lucid, let me save you a whole world of headache.

I enjoyed reading your points. I’ve had 3 Teslas, and now my Lucid Touring. I MUCH prefer the Lucid. I will repeat what I have said before, “If you want to go very fast in a straight line, no other car can beat the Model S Plaid in bang for the buck.” On the other hand, if you want a luxury...

Another close call with Leviton NEMA 14-50

I do have a fire extinguisher in the garage. Why do I use the Nema 14-50 instead of hard wire? Portability. I have had 3 Teslas and 1 Lucid in the last 8 years, and have lived in 3 different homes during this time. Each time I have moved, I simply unplug my charger(s) and plug them into my new...

Another close call with Leviton NEMA 14-50

Yes, I believe that the electrician did not torque the connection properly. This is the main reason for the fire. However, he should have chosen an industrial outlet as well. So, two wrongs that definitely didn’t make a right.

Another close call with Leviton NEMA 14-50

Tesla 14-50 ultimate guide page. There is a lot of good information here that pertains to any EV home charger installation.

Another close call with Leviton NEMA 14-50

50 Amp breaker with 6 gauge wire, I never unplug the charger (which is fully seated into the outlet). The issues are: 1. It is a Leviton outlet, and 2. I found that the red wire where it enters the back of the outlet. As I mentioned, I am replacing the Leviton with an industrial grade Bryant...

Another close call with Leviton NEMA 14-50

First, I smelled it and then I saw the smoke coming out of my NEMA 14-50 outlet. I flipped the circuit breaker, and removed the cover plate, outlet, and plastic junction box. My electrician used Leviton instead of Hubbell or Bryant. I have a Bryant ordered, and a (different ) electrician coming...

    B Pillar Rattle

I have noticed a small rattle in the B pillar on the diver’s side. It might be from the seat belt height adjustment. Anyone else have this issue?

    Hacking a faster charge?

We know that charge rate slows as the state of charge increases. When we first start a fast charge at EA, our KW may be as high as 300+ (I can dream), but this drops rapidly as the battery charges . My question is, “Does this depend on the charge limit that we select?” For example, assume a low...

Price war continues, Model-S just dropped 10k

Please don’t hate on me. There are many sides to this story. I’m happy with my Lucid Air Touring. I have owned 2 model S cars in the past and I’m not interested in swapping my Lucid for a model S plaid. However, this is a wonderful time to be alive! The opportunity to buy a 1020 hp car that...

Impressions after my first 1,000 miles

A couple of thoughts on range: 1. Yes, speed will dramatically decrease your mileage in any vehicle. 2. Cold weather will have a profound, negative effect on your electric vehicle range.

    What did your neighbors say??

I’m curious to learn what crazy things your friends/neighbors/coworkers have said. Just today a friend saw me driving my Air Touring and called me to ask, “What’s a Luci-O?” In fairness, the “D” could look like an “O” at highway speeds.

Lidar Blocked whenever it rains - what does the Lidar do?

I’m not a Tesla hater. I’ve owned three of them in the last 7 years, but I think that there’s more to it than just vertical integration. My cars had sonar and radar installed during the manufacturing. Tesla turned off these functions with an OTA update. Tesla claimed that they wanted to pursue a...

    New Air Touring in Vancouver

Congratulations! When I was recently in Vancouver, I stopped at the Lucid showroom, and met Jakob. He was great: informative, friendly, not pushy. In large part, he was the catalyst that helped me decide to get my Lucid Touring. I chose the Zenith Red, like the floor model, but with a metal roof...

Managing both Tesla and Lucid charging at home.

Rather than change the adapter every time that I need to switch cars, either car can quickly be connected thanks to the splitter. For me, this is simpler and more efficient.
