    Gravity Delivery Discussion

I'm having similar thoughts. The Gravity is my ideal car of everything on the market now. But it's also a bit of a stretch to call it "on the market" since most can't actually buy one yet. If the EV incentive is on the verge of disappearing and there's still no word when my GGT will be built...

    Lease Gravity

As a few of us seem to be on the verge of taking delivery, I wonder if anyone can report the residual in the lease agreement they're about to sign?

Lease Turn in - Excessive Wear and Tear... ?

If Lucid personnel certify that the vehicle was undamaged when you hand it over, and the leasing company inspection finds damage, you potentially have a case to argue that the damage was caused after the vehicle was out of your hands, and thus it's not your responsibility. Winning that argument...

    Gravity GT Supernova Bronze deliveries

My impression is that any manufacturer's painting equipment doesn't quickly change colors. At a certain production volume it ceases to matter much, because they'll have multiple painting rooms (bays? machines? not sure the right term). But Lucid is still low volume, so the color switchover...

Gravity GT First Drive and Orders information

It's not enough to put me off buying a Gravity, but whatever performance gain one may get from the staggered tires doesn't seem worth the decrease in practicality. An extremely small fraction of owners are going to push its performance limits, but tire maintenance and replacement will be...

Hold onto your butts - Hagerty Drag Race

Where did this come from? I went to the Hagerty site, and I don't see anything about it.

    Gravity test drive

I don't understand why key fobs are hard. Isn't this a solved problem, for many years now? The fob for my Toyota is quite compact, the battery lasts for years, the only circumstance it's ever failed me is from that battery wearing out, at which point the fob still has a key folded into it. I...

    Gravity Delivery Discussion

When I went to visit Millbrae to look at the 5-seat Gravity they now have on display, the SA was clear that it also is a pre-production vehicle. The indents on the floor where the 3rd row seats would attach were an artifact of that.

    Gravity test drive

Yeah, I think Waymo's approach to safety and building confidence in their system is a better one. I've never tried to look into what Mercedes is doing for their autonomous driving. It'd be interesting to know how they approach data transparency.

    Gravity test drive

I think society will insist on autonomous vehicles proving they're much safer than a human driver. Our tolerance for robots accidentally killing people is probably much lower than our tolerance for humans doing so. Most people seem to know at least one person who has been seriously injured or...

    Gravity; SUV or Minivan

Those of us without a loaner Gravity have too much time on our hands. We have to do something to pass the hours. 🤣

    Gravity test drive

I think if Tesla didn't have their somewhat ambiguous marketing that tends to oversell FSD as being autonomous driving, then you might not find so many people pushing back against it. As an ADAS system, it's pretty good. There are some concerning incidents of it misbehaving too rapidly and...

    Gravity; SUV or Minivan

I have an aging dog. The lower jump-in height for him is much appreciated. With my current vehicle, I have a flip out step mounted to the trailer hitch receiver. But I'm hoping to avoid that for the Gravity, as I assume it adds a decent amount of drag on the highway.

    Gravity Delivery Discussion

Are you sure interest is fizzling, and distrust growing? Perhaps you're just annoyed at having to wait? I get the impatience. But Lucid said all along that the ramp would be extremely slow, because they wanted to make sure that the vehicles were great when they were delivered. They're...

    Gravity Wraps

I think it'd be hilarious if they targeted a different kind of performance with each Sapphire model. I'm looking forward to the lifted monster-truck variant of the Gravity. 🤣

Is Sanctuary Mode available without the Tech Package upgrade?

The "why" is presumably just cost control. Limiting the number of option combinations eases manufacturing, and I assume some marketing person decided that tying together the various features in the technology package made sense for how they wanted to market and price the vehicle.

    Gravity Wraps

My source is this page on Lucid's site: https://lucidmotors.com/stories/introducing-sapphire-pinnacle-electric-performance. The key quote is towards the end: Of course, that's from almost three years ago, and their plans could certainly have changed since then.

    Gravity test drive

It's true that combining data from multiple sensors poses a challenge. But that's not unique to radar or lidar. Two optical cameras with overlapping fields of view also need to solve the problem. The human brain has to do it with our eyes as well. It's actually an incredibly challenging...

    Gravity Wraps

I wouldn't necessarily call it a commitment, but I think Lucid has said in the past that they plan to make Sapphire versions of all of their vehicles. A Sapphire Gravity will doubtless be too expensive for my taste.

    Gravity test drive

I think that understates what companies can get from Nvidia. I believe that Nvidia DRIVE Hyperion includes both the hardware platform and software, including ML models. But Nvidia is only pitching it as "level 2+" at this point. Even Waymo, the clear leader in autonomous driving, readily...
