Given how fragile these tires are, I think the road hazard insurance is a good idea. I was able to purchase it retroactively at America's Tire.

I looked at TireRack.com- Pirelli was the only offering for the 21 inch Lucid wheels w a HL load rating of 1700 lbs. There are other tires of similar size but the load rating is XL (1500 lbs). Not sure if 200 lb load rating is significant or not- thoughts?

that's very interesting, using a non Pirelli brand. The service dude at America's tire said to only use Pirelli due to the Lucid's increased weight and that other brands were designed for lighter cars. Seems plausible but does anyone else have knowledge of such?

Not a dumb question at all. My non expert opinion is that w a thinner/ shorter sidewall (21in) there is less shock absorbing than with a taller sidewall (19in tire) and therefore 19 inchers are probably a better option in pot hole territory

that's good to have confirmation of such. As it is, it took more effort to jack up the Lucid than any of my other cars and I was seriously scared that my jack might fail under the increased load

thanks but if you watch the video on Amazon, they show multiple different front wheels cars using snow socks. I think the real variable is the tight wheel well clearance in the Lucid. Might be a good idea to keep a small stick/ hook in the trunk to use to clear snow if packed in tight.

I tried the snow socks- I practiced the installation at home w good lighting and it was relatively easy. However when I was in Flagstaff Az and it was dark, winds was howling, snow obscuring vision, hands numb and wet it was much more difficult. I finally was able to put both on; but not on...

So w all the rains in Sunny Southern Cali, pot holes are springing up like mushrooms. I hit one in the dark and got a flat about 2 miles from home. I had a can of "Fix a Flat" in the trunk and was able to get 10psi out of it and limped her back home. America's Tire couldn't get a new tire...

The difference is significant and well worth the effort
