    Home Charger Recommendation?

Early generation Tesla mobile connectors would provide 40 A from a NEMA 14-50. There were some clueless folks that plugged into a 14-50 with a 40A breaker/wiring--an allowed configuration because there is no NEMA outlet designated for 40A. They did not know to limit the charge to 32A and the...

    Gravity Bugs / Issues

It may well have been a belt & suspenders situation, but they were very particular about where to place the card. And I believe at the start of one of the drives we got the "key not detected" message and they fiddled with the card key to correct it.

Would you trust this NACS Adapter?

While it lists 500A and 500-1000V, it also states 250kW. That latter makes it limited and not suitable for Air that can draw up to 350kW. Once Tesla begins deploying V4 cabinets, you could end with a charred mess on your hands.

    Gravity Bugs / Issues

They did have both the Fob and card. They checked at the beginning of each drive to be certain we could shift to drive. I had the impression they were having frequent problems and the card was seeing them through.

On the test drive I took, the SA placed the card dead center on that symbol.

    Reverse Split

Any magnet agreements they had went right out the window in the tarrif/trade war. This article lays out the timeline and points out that all export licenses for magnets were cancelled. https://mainrichmagnets.com/china-magnet-export-ban-2025-update

    Reverse Split

The logistics are actually easier when you get to scale. You can access upper tier suppliers. When you have a custom widget like the HUD, the supplier will be a lot happier tooling up to make the custom thing if you're ordering thousands per month than a few hundred. Larger suppliers can show a...

    Battery modules repair cost

It is not recommended for any battery type, and especially Li Ion, to mix new and old cells. By the time a battery pack is both out of warranty and failing, the entire pack is old. Adding a new module would stress both the old and new batteries, likely leading to repeated failures.

Lucid Air as a home battery backup

I added power walls to the solar already here when we moved to AZ. APS here does not allow export from batteries, only directly from Solar. But the batteries do carry the bulk of the load during the expensive time of the day. The power companies really don't like having to pay their customers...

    2.8.0 Software Update

It's similar to how Tesla's FSD Supervised now handles lane changes. 1. If your exit is getting close, it will merge right to prepare for taking the exit. 2. If the car/truck ahead is moving slower than it wants to go, and another lane is going faster, it will move into the faster lane. I...

    Confusion with Tesla charging

Did you plug the car in before or after using the Tesla app to start the session? I think to control it with the Tesla app, you need to start in the app and then connect to the car.

    Home Charger Recommendation?

It's not a CCS connection at home. CCS is specifically the DC connector. J1772 is the AC L1/L2 connector. We have two Universal Connectors. My Tesla (and future Gravity) use the NACS cable. The Mach-E uses the built-in adapter. It's a very nice adapter! There are a lot of cars out there with...

    Gravity [Grand Touring] Reservations Tracker

To me it makes perfect sense. They are a small car manufacturer that is ramping their production line. They cannot keep the line workers employed, and can't make progress on perfecting the line, without building cars. They literally cannot hold production until they get specific...

    BoA lease return logic?

The only time I leased was a 2013 Ford CMAX Energi. Great car for a compact hybrid. Residual at end of 3 year 15K/year lease was ~22K. I fully intended to purchase it. The dealer had another lease return sitting on the lot. Same color, same spec, 12k fewer miles...$18K. They could sell me that...

    Gravity Bugs / Issues

I think the speed limit sign recognition was incorrectly interpreting the number on the sign as KPH, and displaying that speed in MPH. Someone pointed out that 30KPH is closer to 19MPH (18.6), but that would be slightly over the limit, so they would rather display the integer closest but less...

Yay, Tesla charging … July 31!

I don't think either Air or Gravity will get 500kW. I think Air maxes out at 350 and Gravity at 400. Sure beats my X at 150kW!

Yay, Tesla charging … July 31!

I'm confused. Many of you commented about Tesla or Lucid "controlling credit card fees"... I don't think either company gets money from cc fees...they pay the cc fees for every transaction. It's the cc companies that earn the rent on the payments.
