Arizona may be ending EV access to the HOV lanes

I just got an email from the Arizona Department of Transportation that access may be ending this fall: "This is a courtesy memo to customers who own a vehicle with an Alternative Fuel or Energy Efficient license plate. There is an impending federal change to High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane...

    Sales Associates -- an observation

I have owned many cars and been on many car forums over the years. Like this one they are filled with fans, haters and everything in between. But one difference sticks out to me: I have never before seen so many compliments thrown at sales associates (I know most brands are sold through...

Unusual EVs at the parking garage where the Scottsdale design studio is located

Yesterday I parked there and saw a BYD SUV in the parking garage. Very unusual since it is not sold in the United States. It had a Sonora, Mexico license plate which explains how a BDW ended up in a US Mall garage. Today I parked there and there was a Fisker Ocean a few feet away.

I have finally figured it out (I am apparently slow)

US drivers believe they are in the United Kingdom. Therefore the slow drivers migrate to the proper (left) lane to toddle along. The middle lane is reserved for drivers who are afraid of driving behind someone who MIGHT be turning. The faster drivers are therefore forced into the right lane...

    Black appearance package

They just got one of these in at the Scottsdale design studio. I have never been a fan of the two color look but this one is stunning. It has always bothered me however when car companies charge for a blackout package which should actually be cheaper to produce (chrome is more expensive than...

saw my first dealer ad for an EV in the newspaper

A Ford dealership advertising a lease sale on a Mach-e alongside the traditional sales of an F-150, etc. Until now all the ads I have seen from dealerships have been for ICE cars. We may be beginning to see a surplus of EVs (there is a parking lot by the Scottsdale Costco that is filled with...

GM laying off workers in Arizona -- Opportunity for Lucid

https://www.azcentral.com/story/money/business/2023/08/24/general-motors-layoff-1000-workers-chandler-arizona/70668167007/ Not very far from Lucid manufacturing plant. Might be an opportunity to add some talent to the Lucid software pool.

    Ionic 6

Not a true comparison. This morning I was picking up breakfast at a restaurant and saw a car parked in the lot face in. From the rear, and several cars away, it looked like a Porsche. When I pulled alongside I saw it was an Ionic 6. First one I have seen. I didn't get a chance to view the...

From a motor trend review of the MB EQE sedan

To be fair, this is where every high-performance electric car struggles these days, and the AMG EQE luxury sedan is far from the worst offender. Find a way to increase driver confidence at corner entry, find some life lost in the electric steering rack, and this car could be well on its way to...

    It isn't only Lucid...

Here is a posting from the Genesis GV60 forum on a similar short notice turtle alert: No, there was no sound or warning at all. I was going over a bridge at about 35 mph when it just shut down and stopped. The dash displayed ‘check vehicle electrical system”. Luckily the tow truck driver knew...

    lucid and Genesis GV60

We have at least two members here who have both a Lucid Air and a Genesis GV60. They aren't comparable (sedan vs. small SUV) but there are some useful comparisons. Saratoga Lefty is going to try high regen on the Lucid and then low regen (to allow coasting) on the Genesis on the same routes...

Battery producer building factory near Lucid factory

All it took was an email

There have been a lot of posts here about folks complaining about being called after cancelling. I used the message function on the Lucid app to cancel explaining that I had picked up a GV60. Zach (one of the splended folks at the Fashion Square Design Studio) emailed me back that he would...

    Well...I started the cancellation process

As many of you know, I have had a reservation for a RWD Pure for a long time and recently picked up a Genesis GV60 EV. I have struggled with the decision as I do love the Lucid Air and really enjoyed my test drive in one. I anticipated I would know how the company was setting up the RWD Pure...
