    Air Version 2.8.30

After 2.8.30 my car no longer highlights when I’m exceeding what it thinks is the speed limit. (Which I am happy about.) Did this happen in a prior revision and I just noticed now?

    Air Version 2.8.30

With these incremental updates I just hope for fewer glitches.

Is Hands-Free Drive Assist Going to Become a Paid Software Service?

I read the presentation to say that they’d charge for capabilities beyond lane centering (i.e. L3 and better). Would be super slimy to start charging people who paid $10k (or $12k!) initially and then had to wait years for hands free to be available!

    High pitch electrical noises

Don’t cut! The trim can be carefully pried off (you can get car trim removal kits on Amazon) then you can unplug. Or have service do it. Note you won’t be able to operate the window as there is no separate wire for the light. Felt tape as described earlier in this thread also made a solid...

    Lucid AI Demo

With regard to the AI assistant, I guess I don’t understand what it’s going to do that my phone can’t, that’s worth paying for. I suppose if I need to start paying for data in my car then I will, but how will an assistant that can’t leave my car make my life better?

    Lucid Investor Day - March 12, 2026

I realize this is a silly comparison but everyone knows what Ferrari is despite their cars having a very small TAM. Why? Ferrari has had a lot longer to do marketing and they are just better at it.

I get a fair number of compliments on my Air from random people but most have never heard of Lucid.

Fair enough, to be honest I don't remember what I've spent per year on my Air maintenance. Once we get to L4 though, I absolutely would pay $200/month to literally sleep through my morning and evening commutes, if that's what the market rate is.

The parts of it that I saw didn't reveal anything groundbreaking. They have a third (!) platform for a few midsize variants and they are providing vehicles for robotaxis, which is not new. The midsize marketing is impenetrable: Upscale nurturers? Trendsetting achievers? Gibberish. Their cost...

With regard to entertainment, showing videos visible to the driver while the car is moving is probably a nonstarter from both a safety and legal perspective. Perhaps for rear passengers (children), but then why not give them inexpensive iPads? L3-4 autonomy will in all likelihood be...

Pretty clear they will start charging for infotainment connectivity in some way. Do they plan a subscription model for ADAS and V2H?

That or you pay extra for a higher quality of service from whatever cell carrier they're using.

Kind of funny that "Lucid AI Assistant" is described as coming in 2026. A tacit admission that the current SoundHound-powered AI assistant doesn't work? Also, for the MY 2028 Air features - if they are truly only for MY 2028+ cars, that suggests there will be a CCCv3 coming in 2027?

    3.0 on Air

If there was a lot of technical debt with the UX 2 codebase, and they're standardizing on UX 3 for midsize as well, and they plan to keep the Air in production a few more years, I can see why they decided to go this way.

    3.0 on Air

I think they are trying to prop up used Air prices. Easier to justify buying new when used prices are not so much less, and helps the brand image if they are seen as long-lasting cars that don't quickly go obsolete.

    3.0 on Air

If we're keeping score, we are missing V2H, multitasking, dashcam, and maybe improvements to HomeLink?

    Spotify "Crashes" after 15 minutes

Built in Spotify is so crashy on my Air that it’s basically unusable. I switched to Tidal, which I find a lot more stable.

    High pitch electrical noises

Personally I’m quite sensitive to high frequencies where most people simply wouldn’t notice the noise.

    High pitch electrical noises

Put your ears directly on the window switches. In both Air and Gravity they make a high pitched whine when their little lights are on, which coincides with headlights being on.
