Tracking Down the Mystery of Air/Gravity Locking/Unlocking

Frustration rant incoming.. The root cause is Lucid chose the wrong technology for the job - the FOB and PAAK both use the BLE (Bluetooth low energy) protocol to auth with the vehicle. This protocol works fine for items that don't require direct interaction (think Apple air tags or a passive...

    Air Version 2.9.0

This is common in vehicles that automatically engage the emergency brake when shifted into park, as most EVs do. Nothing to do with the software change. Most likely the brake pad wasn't allowed to cool properly before making contact with the rotor, or humidity caused rust to form. In either...

Fair enough, I was only looking at current inventory. But my point still stands.

Future-Proofed for a Future That Never Came

"Abandoned" is a strong word, especially considering my car just got the 2.9 upgrade over the weekend. I never said Lucid is abandoning the Air, they're obviously not doing that. If they weren't making strides towards promised features then it would be a different story. And not to quabble but...

Future-Proofed for a Future That Never Came

I think you're right, it's crummy when a marketing dept writes checks that engineering can't cash. But at the same time, I don't think the path towards high market value for Lucid involves putting a ton of resources into older niche product lines like the Air. That's not what Air owners want...

    Air Version 2.9.0

Anybody else see the email notification from Lucid about the update? Seems like they're integrating Google Maps into the native nav software. It reads like they're still using Here for route planning, but Google for location metadata. I don't remember seeing this in the release notes. I haven't...

Auto Park Mishap: Front Bumper Scraped on High Curb

Ahh that sucks. Looks like a lot of people have been caught out by that curb. I don't think service will have much to say in terms of any resolution. As with all "self driving" systems on the road today, the liability ultimately falls with the meat behind the wheel.

    The Long Goodbye

Call from a senior exec on a Sunday is pretty cool, thanks for sharing that @hmp10 . Maybe a bit more outreach like this could stave off these kinds of threads. Obviously execs can't be calling people individually, but maybe line up some interviews between publications/users with followers and...

    Air Version 2.9.0

Where'd you get that 6.2 GB figure? My car only pulled down a little under 4 GB. Just curious - your point stands either way; the download will take time.

    Air Version 2.9.0

I applied the update this afternoon, install seemed to go well. I happened to be out of town overnight when I got notification of the update. The car and the app both said WiFi is required to download the update. Makes sense; Lucid must be feeling our data consumption. My Sirius app isn't able...

    Tire repair

I've had it done before, it's hit/miss depending on the damage and the tire. If you've driven some distance with the damage and the sidewall has taken a beating most shops won't do a repair. These low profile tires are less likely to take to a repair in my experience.

Critical Feedback After a Few Months

There are CS reps that check these forums occasionally, but if you want to give feedback to Lucid it's best to reach out to them directly - [email protected]

    EVGo

I've charged my Air at EVGo, they've been quite reliable for me aside from their sparsity. Unless those credits are somehow bound by t's & c's I see no reason you couldn't use them to charge any vehicle. You should be able to use their application, or I believe you can even request an RFID card...

    Air Version 2.9.0

What connection issues have been reported after the 2.9 update? I'm not sure we've had a single person in this thread aside from OP actually receive the update yet.

    Air Version 2.9.0

I was going to post the same thing. I'd say it seems like a slow rollout but then I started trying to recall how quickly previous minor (2.x) releases had been pushed and I'm drawing a blank. So I'm not sure if this is slower than usual. I've found the most recent 2.8 series to be quite stable...

Repeated Loss of Sirius XM and phone Audio

I've also experienced the same problems in the past. The complete audio loss was really bad prior to version 2.8.16. My audio would drop out and require a reboot several times per month. It's been much more stable since v2.8.16; I think I've encountered the issue only once since that version.
