Buying Air GT 2022 vs 2023

Yes the heat pump doesn't matter to me since I live in the Bay Area and the CCV2 chip isn't too important considering a $900 upgrade on a ~$50k is quite reasonable, thank you for the advice

Buying Air GT 2022 vs 2023

I was able to find a 2022 with in service date in 2024, so the late bloomers are out there. I had pretty good luck asking Lucid support for warranty status on the cars I was interested in.

Buying Air GT 2022 vs 2023

...warranty expires. We’re only starting to see what repair costs look like out of warranty. Changes really didn’t occur until the 25 model year with the introduction of the heat pump and CCCV2 chip. You might even get lucky and find a car where the prior owner spent $900 and upgraded the chip.

2 signs popped up while I was driving and the car stopped.

Hi, I have a 072 "DE" number, and my service center is located in Plainview, NY. I do not drive the car often. I did have some issues with the air conditioning that is not blowing heat in the past, but nothing like this.

sunlight (heat?) causing cockpit panel to turn off

I can never keep the names straight. I go with driver's display and center display. When troubleshooting an intermittent electronics failure, after you've wiggled all the cables, you try to reproduce the failure by selectively heating and/or cooling suspect components.

sunlight (heat?) causing cockpit panel to turn off

Cockpit panel, but yeah, it definitely seems like a defective part somewhere in the panel's overall system that shows itself in sun/heat.

sunlight (heat?) causing cockpit panel to turn off

Just got off the phone with customer service and this will almost certainly result in a service visit, but thought I'd share... Four times now I've had the car, on bright, hot sunny days have the cockpit panel just turn off, this last time was a nice comparison because the reverse trip was...

2026 Lucid Air Charge Curve Improvements?

It's not out of the question that there is updated hardware inside the charging post that is more compatible with the Air, or generates less heat and therefore the car doesn't hit any thermal limits....

    AC compressor failure

Do you know if they replaced the ac compressor with the latest one being used in 2026 models or is it still the less powerful version used prior to 2026 year Airs?

    AC compressor failure

I'm really sorry to hear about your experience and that Lucid is expecting you to pay for repairs. I'd recommend any others that have experienced this and feel it's a legitimate safety concern to submit an NHTSA complaint (linked below). If it's really a repeatable and widespread issue Lucid...

    AC compressor failure

...brought out a loaner car and took my car to the dealer and four days later they called to tell me I would need to pay for a new compressor and heat pump and with parts and labor. It was over $8000. I’ve never had a car where I had to replace an AC compressor everrrrr…..and I’ve had some old...

    Chicago Winter Driving

The AWD Pure was discontinued after 2023 so if that’s critical to your purchase you’ll either need to buy an older Pure or a newer Touring. You might also want to consider that the heat pump was added to all vehicles in 2025 and that will help with your winter range.

    Giant Windshield Crack

...or a bird ran into the windshield or some of a million other external factors that could have caused stress to the glass during the intense heat. I'm guessing I'm not to blame for something I didn't cause. Your case is a really horrible situation, but I didn't automatically blame the...

Will marketing finally make a turn? Ex Hyundai executive hired by Napoli

How people here can take “it’s sunny today” and turn it into “the heat death is coming for us all” never ceases to amaze me.

Air Pure vs Grand Touring in 2026

Interestingly, the Lucid Tracker stats show the Touring with higher overall efficiency as well, which I find surprising, of the numbers are relatively representative.

Air Pure vs Grand Touring in 2026

I actually see slightly better efficiency numbers on this 26 Touring over my 24 Pure. Guess that heat pump made a difference.

    Giant Windshield Crack

...were no pre-existing pits, star cracks, or damage to the glass. The car was stationary the entire time. I am guessing that the summer radiant heat, and perhaps hot air trapped between that tight-fitting cover and the window, allowed the glass temperature to climb to a point where the frame...

My experience with a 2025 AGT after 34k miles in my 2023 AGT

After almost four mostly blissful years and 79,000 miles, I just transferred ownership of my Sep 2022-build Air GT. I felt sad as the car pulled away from my home to set out on its 1700 mile journey to its new owner in Kentucky. I consoled myself by thinking that when the time is right once...
