    Total Eclipse anyone ?

We live within two hours of the path of totality. However, we'll be driving the ICE car to view it, not the Lucid. The last eclipse also tracked within two hours of normal driving time from our house. However, it took five hours to get home and that's only because we knew the road system well...

    NACS Megathread

When I was covering automotive electronics/infotainment for the Chicago Tribune, ca. 1990, Ford engineers told me they really wanted to switch to 24 volts for weight and cost savings. The issue holding them back at that time was light bulbs. Bulbs with 24v filaments were too fragile for on-road...

Consumer Reports rating of the Touring in Aug 2023 issue.

I've had long experience with Consumer Reports dating back to the 1970s. I reviewed audio components for many years. CR didn't get it. They once rated a Lafayette receiver (the house brand of a long gone electronics chain) as the best. If you removed the case, it was a piece of junk. The Bose...

How Much Range Are You Actually Getting?

Seasons make a big difference. When the temperature is over 55 I average 3.5-3.8 miles/kwh. When temperature is below 45 I average 3.0-3.2 miles /kwh under identical driving style and conditions. When it's really cold it dips below 3.0.

    Climate control

We all know the icon that does the following: "Activating this feature maintains the current cabin temperature after exiting the vehicle for 45 minutes." I just want to confirm that applies not only to cooling, but also to heating? I am aware that leaving the heater on will drain the batteries...

OTA Update 2.1.43 - ROBUST THIS! - Important PSA to Update to 2.1.43 ASAP or RIP

Although my car is spending the night at Goose Island, my phone notified me that the .43 upgrade was available. I tapped "install" and it updated 150 miles away. Pretty cool.

    USB issue

For the first six months I drove my Air Touring the USB input worked just fine. Over the years I've made myself dozens of "favorites" compilations migrating from cassette to CD to phone to thumb drives. I bought a 16 GB brand name USB thumb drive, formatted it in FAT32 and transferred about 7 GB...

I hate the power rear sunshade controls

What I'd like to see is a tab on the Pilot Panel where you could simply lock the sunshades, so the door switches would neither send them up nor down.

    New Lucid

As they always say, your mileage may vary. Much depends upon how low you want to run your batteries. I won't go below 20 percent. With above 55 degree temperatures and light wind at 73 mph, my Touring drives about 285 miles per charge. Sure, if I drive the two-lanes at 60 I'd probably get closer...

    RESOLVED Android Auto Thursday

I concur: I'd settle simply for Google maps. However, in lieu of Android Auto, I'd also like a native/local voice recognition rather than Alexa. Amazon already knows enough about me, but it doesn't yet know where I travel.

Which Carlinkit model do I buy for the Lucid?

Forget efficiency - Drive faster for just $6 per month!

To me, efficiency, per se, is not an issue. I don't keep track of how much it costs to keep my Lucid Touring charged. In local driving, within 50 miles of home, I drive the Lucid like I would any other car, or perhaps a bit more aggressively. Full heat in winter, normal speed (about 74 mph)...

Bravo to Goose Island, Chicago crew

My USB port started acting a bit finicky. One day it played music from my USB drive, the next day it didn't. (Yes, formatted FAT32 using MP3 files, only about 10 GB on the drive.) I contacted customer service and told them this was no emergency, but it would be nice sometime to straighten this...

    OTA update 2.1.42

Is it my imagination, but after 2.1.42 update the throttle (accelerator) response is smoother and more even? It just feels different (in a good way) after the update. No other settings were changed on the car. I have it set for maximum regenerative braking and battery charge at 75 percent. Also...

    Robust 19-inch wheels/tires

I was turning into a small parking lot where the concrete curb jutted a little further out on the right than I noticed. I hit it with the two right wheels at about 15 mph. I can see no damage to the wheel rim and thus far, the tire remains normally inflated. I have no idea if there is any...

    Metal vs Glass roof

I bought the Touring (Zenith Red) with the glass canopy because that's all that was available at the time. I'd much prefer the metal roof. I spent a few hundred dollars having film applied to the glass canopy, but it does not solve the blazing heat and too much light in the summer. Go with the...

    OTA version 2.1.33

Received it on Wednesday. Have not noticed any significant differences, but I think it mainly enhanced features I don't use. It did not correct the audio muting problem.

For Sale 2023 Lucid Air Touring

First, location is in central Illinois. I am aware about pricing, but I factored in the $4K in PPF / ceramic coating. I'm willing to directly negotiate about price. I don't have to sell this car, as it's a fine machine. It's just more car than I need.

For Sale 2023 Lucid Air Touring

First, I've really enjoyed Borski's informative comments for the over 18 months I've participated on this forum At the moment, I don't have any other vehicles in mind. My partner and I can temporarily share the Honda Accord hybrid. I'd like a well-appointed EV the size of the Accord with...
