Does the Lucid Grand Touring Satisfy your Sport Car Desires

I have spent most of my miles in Smooth mode, and the drive has been absolutely fantastic. When I first got the car, I used Sprint a few times, but I didn't know enough about the car to pay much attention to the difference. Lately, I've been playing around with Sprint a bit more. All I can say...

    Turo: Rent a Lucid

To be clear, I don't rent mine. Someone else rents one on Turo. We just got to hear all the gory details at our meetup which blueice attended.

    Turo: Rent a Lucid

Well, as much as I enjoyed meeting @blueice89, you'll have to be pretty diligent in understanding the what your renters are hoping to do with the car :D!

Just got a crack in my windshield in Malibu =(

Having had it done, it is $2500. I think the insurance company has been balking at paying all of it, but I think it breaks down to $1600 for the glass and the remainder for the labor. With recalibrating everything, it takes about half a day. Also, installing it is a two person job.

    Tax credits

For AGT purchasers, sure. But there are a lot of Touring and Pure folks on this board who likely do find this amount important. For the Pure, it almost 10% off the car. Makes a big difference there I think.

    Lucid for Commuting

This really was one of the main reasons I bought it. I have a 35 minute commute to work (on days I don't work from home). If I'm not commuting to the office, I'm driving my son basically the same distance to school. For what I need an infotainment system to do - play music on either FM stations...

7500 EV tax credit update with new bill

Was going to ask the question as to how many of those would qualify after options that everyone wants are added, so you bring up great point about software add-ons after the fact. I wonder whether you'd have to wait until after getting the rebate. I'd think as long as they were under a separate...

    Delivery Delays

Back in the good old days of the early spring, the VIN to delivery seemed to be running about 2-3 weeks. Hopefully, they'll get back to those timelines as 6-8 weeks or more just doesn't seem worth giving out a VIN in the first place.

    Who Has the Most Miles?

5600+...have had the car for 4 months.

    Vampire Drain

For a second there, when I saw the Do Not Disturb notification on your phone, I thought that may be a new feature of 1.2.75. Then I realized it was for your phone. But seriously, why not implement something like that where it won't wake up unless you take the DND off via the app? I'm sure that's...

7500 EV tax credit update with new bill

Given that the legislative landscape is likely to look a lot different in 2023 or even the post-election portion of 2022, if this bill is going to pass, it will pass in the next couple months. Now maybe they push the EV start date to 2024, but I doubt it. Manchin is expressly against any sort of...

    Federal Tax Credit?

First year I'm paying estimated taxes...how is paying estimated taxes any different from your company taking out the required amount of taxes for the year? Either way, aren't you documenting what you paid to the IRS for the year without regard to timing? It sounds like you're saying that whether...

    All Screens went blank

I was the one who requested the reset and to be clear, I was requesting a reset of the infotainment system only. If you're entire front console went blank, then yes, I would not agree a reset would be good there. I'm only talking about the functions that you don't need to drive the car.

Who has a car that has pretty much worked flawlessly?

Over 5k miles, I had the frunk latch problem fixed when I took the car in for a windshield replacement. Other than that, no issues. I do wish the ventilated seats were better designed, but I think that's a design problem and they are working as intended. I've had the car on two roadtrips and the...

    OTA 1.2.75?

I have two other cars that open every time when I press the open button the fob. The Lucid also opens every time when I press the fob twice. When I press the fob once to lock the car, it locks the car. My other two cars do the same thing. Totally get that the magic of not having to press...

    Arizona

Got mine done at AZ Auto Aesthetics. Very pleased and maybe a tad less expensive if you want to check them out. They're located down my Mesa Gateway airport.

    Initial Thoughts

Does Homebridge work with Google as well for those of us luddite enough to use an android phone? Also, I'd suspect hope that if they're moving buttons around in the new release, they might make that one a little more prominent.

    Feedback/improvements for the Air!

I'd agree with that, but some of the most stable software I use sometimes glitches - phone apps, computer programs, streaming services. So it's hard to criticize the occasional freeze or two. But to have to stop, wait for the whole car to go to sleep, and then wake up just to change the radio...

    Feedback/improvements for the Air!

Not sure if it's been mentioned before, but please, please can we get the ability to reboot just the infotainment system while driving? Yesterday evening, it never got off the Lucid background. I knew it would easily reset after stopping and having the car go quickly into sleep mode, but most of...
