After watching/reading more specifics about CarPlay Ultra I think you are correct. Normal Carplay will satisfy the vast majority of what most users are looking to get for in-car infotainment. Carplay Ultra looks interesting, but I can't see if being an "absolute must have" for people.

Just out of curiosity, is a "Pure + AWD" a non-US thing? When I was looking at buying a Lucid the Touring model seemed like what you are describing. Basically, if you want RWD get the Pure, if you want AWD start with the Touring (and of course go up from there). Even now looking at available...

This seems like such a basic thing. Most people use their phones as entertainment multimedia hubs. Its not just "a phone" and hasn't been for ~20 years. The nice thing about Carplay (and presumably Android Auto, though I've never used it) is that you don't have to go from one device to another...

This is almost purely subjective, but IMHO fathom blue is the best color. That being said, I ended up with a grey car because I wanted other options more and I took what was available. I'd avoid a color I didn't like, but IMHO silver will look fine, even if it doesn't really stand out much.

I have the adjustable ambient lighting on my car...honestly I couldn't care less about it. I would completely discount that feature if I were you. Its something I think I checked out a little bit when I first got the car and have never bothered with since.

While I understand what you are saying, it seems like that is looking at it purely from the automakers perspective. As a consumer, I very much prefer using Carplay. Everyone I know with an iPhone now uses Carplay in their cars. It makes the infotainment and navigation aspect of cars so much...

This would be really nice to have, but yeah like the above poster said I am not going to hold my breathe. I think this would be a significant time/resource investment for a car company to make so that it could be integrated into their UI and I don't see Lucid having that type of bandwidth.

I just want to say I appreciate this thread. My Lucid Air is leased...and its my first lease. All my other cars have been purchased and then later traded in. For me I can't see how some curb rash wouldn't be acceptable. I've never had a car that didn't have some (only exception between my "toy"...

FWIW, this was also my biggest gripe with the Model 3. Interior just felt too cheap and I did not like the ergonomics of using the center screen for everything. The one EV other than the Lucid that I really liked the interior and UI was the Cadillac Optiq. Really nice interior, really great UI...

I test drove a Model 3 before buying my Lucid (along with a bunch of other EV's). IMHO the Model 3 was the second best driving EV of the bunch, so I give Tesla credit for that. The Lucid was better IMHO. I think on perfectly smooth roads they will feel about the same, but the Lucid handles road...

Only issue was with the rental. The first rental I got (a Nissan Altima) had an issue with the brakes about 5 miles away when leaving the rental location. I took it back and they gave me a Chevy Malibu instead. Obviously niether car is as nice as a Lucid Air but the Malibu was comfortable to...

I assume my first call was to a national number, I just called the number on their website. I realize now the call back was from someone specifically at KoP. I didn't realize it at the time but the same person has been dealing with me since then and their e-mail says they work at KoP.

So just an update for anyone curious, they said it is the coolant pump for the front drive unit. They are hoping to have it completed today and returned back to me tomorrow.

I am so glad I found this thread. The last couple of weeks it seems like whenever I am home and try to wake it up (for any reason) from the app it never seems to wake up. But at work (where I for sure have really bad cell connection) it always wakes right up. It never occurred to me until this...

I agree that Lucid's process makes a lot of sense. I think the one caveat I would add is that they should try to keep them in stock so people can get their cable right at delivery. Unfortunately not. I will say the customer service does seem on top of things. I only called them once yesterday. I tried the reset process yesterday evening but they called me back this morning before I even had a chance to call them.

Appreciate the info guys. They are picking up the car tomorrow morning so I guess I will find out some time after that. I'll post what it is once I find out. If it is the coolant valve issue that woudl be interesting that it is happening so frequently.

I live in South Jersey and have only us EVGo. I was pretty happy with it, only need a credit card (no app or subscription needed). As you say it only charged ~100-150kW (fluctuated during the session) but that seemed fine for me at the time.
