Car will not update. Lucid says needs new telematics module not covered by warranty. Is this normal?

I think it's not simply about one unique experience someone got into. It's about how the company is giving a hard time to a customer for a situation which is quite common sense for any company to do the job under warranty. It says more about the management, and how they are behaving very...

Car will not update. Lucid says needs new telematics module not covered by warranty. Is this normal?

I think you have a strong case now. The vehicle says it's up to date. And as per you, Lucid did confirm that the warranty was up to date before purchasing the car. I would suggest reaching out to their PR folks or someone in twitter or any other medium. If nothing works, this is an interesting...

    NACS Megathread

There are some rare stations for both EA and Chargepoint that won't reach Lucid no matter how you park. For the EA station, I was able to do it once by taking three parking spots. But, that's impossible at that Walmart during busy hours.

    NACS Megathread

Between the charging limitation to 50kw, and the position of charging port, I would complain more on the position of charging port. 2025 is the year Tesla is planning to ramp up their vehicle production further too, making superchargers more crowded. I don't see it practical to occupy 2 or 3...

    I LOVE TRAFFIC

We could look at a paper map and compass for navigation :)

    I LOVE TRAFFIC

I just wish Lucid has a way to tell me how much time I spent with the car, just to appreciate it ;)

    FEATURE 2024 Wishlist Survey

For me, duration of current drive (and trips) is all that's needed. I can wait forever for any other features. But, not having an idea of how much time I am spending on commute is irritating me a lot.

Towing a Pebble RV (rating mismatch)

I don't have any experience towing, but have been trying to learn more for some time. Based on my understanding, you will be good so long as you keep the weight below 6k. They mention 6.2k as fully loaded weight, so you may have to do something to manage things that you will load in the RV...

    Handling between 3 models impressions?

I never sat in Touring or GT, but the seats on my Pure AWD is not that great for spirited driving. For vehicle that advertises as sporty, I just wish that they kept more side bolstering for all trims.

Lucid Air Pure: The Real Tesla Fighter! - MKBHD - Auto Focus Review

Personally, I feel that he is a poor reviewer of cars. He is weighing in various features as an end user who gets to spend some time with it. it's just that his reviews are getting some attention (more than it deserves in terms of the quality of the content) - which can affect sales. Otherwise...

Lucid's Charging Curve, can it be improved via OTA update?

I was having a similar thought. If longevity is the main concern for Lucid to reduce charging speed, they should offer customers a limited number of 'max rate' mode that they can use - say 10 times a year or so. This will help us plan the trips accordingly. For eg: If I am just doing a restroom...

    A Question For Active Referrrers...

There were many cancellations in my referrals in the past, but I never reached 8. I got locked out too. I am not too bothered by it, as it's just couple more months.

    NACS Megathread

I am more interested to wait for Rivian to open up their charging network. Many of them are in such locations where it's hard to find other chargers. I hope that next couple of years will see many non-EA networks expanding their coverage - Evgo (through GM?), Circle K, Chargepoint and so on...

Wanted Lucid Connected Home Charger Station

I believe it still comes with free mobile charger which can be used on level-1 and level-2 outlets. Can you not use it until you can order the home charging station for november?

"Lucid’s Tech is Unmatched—But What About the Customer Experience?"

I don't know if anything changed from April to now But, when I booked a test drive, I had the best customer experience from any brand. Very knowledgeable and professional staff handled the test drive experience. I was more than impressed by it. And, when I reserved one, the communication was...

220v charging - anyway to limit amp draw

Many other popular chargers can also do this. Grizzl-E chargers have dip switch settings, and app level control on top of it.

220v charging - anyway to limit amp draw

I think this feature should have been available on the car side. It's a big miss from Lucid. It's available in most other vehicles. I think Tesla can even do this at 1A increment. For eg: If I have a 48A Level-2 charger, but I want the car to limit the amp to 40A just to be on safe side, I would...

    Fast Charging in Las Vegas

I haven't tried charging in LV. But, I heard multiple stories of folks waiting forever in EA stations in LV. That's the case with most of the big cities in CA too. Unless you plan to charge in early morning, I would recommend charging on your way to ensure you have enough juice to drive around...

Enel x-way (maker of Juice Box charger) closing

There are quite a lot of companies selling chargers, and Juice box- being one of the popular ones - stopping business is a warning that it's not probably a good idea to buy chargers from third party companies. I am not sure if competition is playing a role here, or the free chargers offered by...

    Gravity Competition

As far as I understand, Hyundai group is at a transition point in their software defined vehicle development. I am not entirely sure how much of that has gone into these vehicles. It is also not clear if they are transitioning to something completely new (a complete overhaul?) or working their...
