First DC fast charging experience with Electrify America

I normally only report on non-working chargers. You're right, I probably should have called them to let them know about their low power charging. But really, they should have software in place that tells them these things. For example, in my most recent experience 3 of the 4 chargers were not...

If you are on the fence between deciding between Tesla and Lucid, let me save you a whole world of headache.

I agree with the OP. Service at Tesla was good until they came out with the Model 3 (I had an S). After COVID even worse. I do fear that if/when Lucid goes down market the same will happen with them. Let's hope not.

First DC fast charging experience with Electrify America

Yesterday I did my 4th "fast charge" at a Walmart. I was at 15% SOC with good weather 70 degrees. First charger was 30 kW. I moved to a second. It was 20 kW. Third machine was 60 kW. Now I see why no one was using the machines at this location. My previous charging session did not...

    NACS Megathread

Being a recent Lucid Air Pure owner I was on the fence about my order due to the charging. I saw so many nightmare posts about EA in particular. So, perhaps others would like more clarity on Lucid's plans? I don't think the Osborne effect applies here. Many others have announced NACS...

    Key fob desired

I don't like the fob. It is near impossible to get the string thru so that it can be attached to my keychain (hope the string never breaks). The one button does all I also don't like. The button is hard to press. You need to learn morse code to open the frunk and trunk. I much prefer my fob...

    EA Charging

I've charged 3 times. The first 2 no problem, except the nozzle seemed to be at an angle. I needed to twist it to insert. The 3rd time the nozzle was less angled, but it could not authenticate. I called EA (10 minutes on hold) and they walked me thru using the Lucid App for authentication...

From an EQS to Lucid Air Pure with base DD and SS

My Pure is my first car with the 360 view. I REALLY like it. I cannot imagine not having that in a future car. The Lucid implementation is very impressive. Very smooth graphics if you use it to look from different angles.

    Trunk Failure Warning

^ Having the FOB with me the trunk works fine. I guess that was the issue.

    Trunk Failure Warning

I didn't get a warning, but this morning my truck was acting weird. I pressed the open truck button on the pilot panel and it opened about 1". Press it again, and it opened another inch. Etc., etc until it was open. I went outside and the close button did nothing. So I had to just manually...

    Plugging In

The cable was plenty long enough. I thought perhaps which side of the charger I parked may make a difference? Anyway, next time pic/video evidence. I must be doing something wrong. I parked on the side of the EA charger with the screen on the other side from my car.

    Plugging In

Thanks for the replies. The charging port on the car is fine. The standard J1772 on the top, and the two high power pins on the bottom. Imagine holding the EA charging cable in your hand and the two high power pins on the top, and the J1772 type on the bottom. To get the right orientation to...

    Getting ‘locked’ into car

My new Pure had a problem last week. I got out of the car, but my passenger could not. I walked over, reach in, and tried it open. That did not work. The handle was out so I tried to pull on that, and it did not work. I tried twice locking and unlocking with the fob. The second time it...

    Plugging In

I just bought a Lucid Pure. I've had my Pure for about 3 weeks. I've had a Tesla for about 7 years. I must say the plugging experience on the Tesla was never a problem. Simple and easy. But, I'm having trouble with EA and my car. I've only charged it twice so far, once at two different...

    Problem with cockpit panel

As a follow up, I heard from Lucid. There was some internal defect in the glass cockpit. They have replaced it. They gave me a GT loaner in the meantime. They also gave me a gift since the car is brand new. Very impressed with Lucid!

    Door open/close

Car doors normally have certain open and stop points. With my Lucid Pure if you are inside and you push the door open, the door just wants to swing back and close. This is on level ground. I don't notice this happening on my other cars. Do you think Lucid can make an adjustment such that...

How Much Range Are You Actually Getting?

The first Lucid Tech talk is on batteries. Very interesting. There are 300 individual batteries (2170s) per module. The Pure and Touring have 18 modules. The GT has 22 modules. The lesser modules in the Pure provides what Peter calls a "Foot Garage" for back seat passengers. Typically a...

How Much Range Are You Actually Getting?

Don't they both have 18 modules? What would be the reason for the difference?

How Much Range Are You Actually Getting?

Is that right? I've read 92 kWh, with 88 kWh useable. Same for RWD or AWD for the Pure and Touring.
