    OTA 2.8.16

I"ve never felt the Lucid Air software was "buggy" until 2.8.16. I updated few days ago,but never really drove more than a few miles from my house until today. Today I drove from SF Bay Area to LA Here are my 3 biggest complaints: 1- Android Auto crashes more than it used to. 2- Super laggy...

Shout out to San Jose Service

That's my car, arriving on its carriage, in San Jose. San Jose service took great care of me and my car. I'm definitely switching service centers from Millbrae :-) This is a follow up to the thread I posted about a week ago. I was on a long road trip and my car started throwing codes. At first...

Error codes galore during long road trip

Update - I left the car in Washington, Utah (near St. George)at my brother's house. We took my brother's car to Moab. I've been in contact with Lucid San Jose off and on all day, as much as cell coverage allowed. They've been fan-freaking-tastic. I'm feeling bad I kinda dis'd Lucid service...

Error codes galore during long road trip

Thanks! I got a call this am from San Jose service center. My car is in Washington Utah at the moment while I continue on my journey in my brother's car. We are on our way to Moab as I speak. But the service center said they would check in to see if a mobile tech can go visit my car while I'm...

Error codes galore during long road trip

Thanks for the update. My Spideysense is that it is something like this, or a bad connection in a harness because a lot of stuff is going at once. Well, within a short amount of time.

Error codes galore during long road trip

I tried that method of rebooting, too. It is a bit more involved than just walking away for 10 minutes, but, the mother of all reboots is supposed to be the hold brake pedal while also holding the x and mic buttons.

Error codes galore during long road trip

I'm on a week long road trip from the SF Bay Area to visit family in LA, southern Utah, and also to go mtn. biking in Moab. Today after charging in Baker, CA, my car started throwing error codes. I got a warning about the front left lighting system. Then the front right. Then front collision...

Android Auto in 2.7.0 - Initial Impressions

OK, I've been using AA quite a bit lately and here are a couple of observations. 1- My phone (Pixel 8) gets pretty warm when using AA. And that means crazy drain to the point of anything long distance means I'm going to have to plug it in. 2- AA usually launches automagically when I select it...

    Using The Valet Key Card

My first attempt at using the valet card was also my last attempt -- at least until Lucid upgrades the experience. I gave the card to the valet and showed him how to open the door using it, and also where to swipe to drive. I had put a piece of blue masking tape at the swipe location with the...

    Using The Valet Key Card

Thank you for this thread. Yeah, super non-obvious and I was going crazy and thinking this can't be real. And abs-effing-lutely, using the valet key should put the card in Valet mode. Valet mode should lock the glovebox and trunk and give the car maybe a 2 mi radius that it can be driven in...

    LCHCS stuck at 12A

Right. They'll do nothing in return. They did offer me a new one, but, I had had enough. So you are correct -- sending it back was the same as throwing it in the trash. Problem is, I can't even throw one of those cardboard tubes from an empty paper towel roll in the trash -- I have to...

    LCHCS stuck at 12A

Oh, wow. I wish I had known that. And yes, I thought it was an extremely poor response from customer care. But, it is done now.

    LCHCS stuck at 12A

Tom didn't want it, as he had one already. He agreed my problem was most likely using 6AWG wire, but no way to tell without testing. I was not going to spend $15/foot for 15 feet a wire without some assurance that was go to fix the problem. That was on me, but, I'm still annoyed.

    LCHCS stuck at 12A

ACtually, Lucid has already given Tom a LCHCS to test, but he has more EVSEs to test than he has time to test them -- my guess is he probably never will, although he might be keen to see if he can get his to limit itself to 12A the same way I think mine did.

    LCHCS stuck at 12A

So the saga comes to a close. Lucid is taking the unit back, but not "refunding" me my referral points back. I strongly suspect the only problem is that the unit is expecting 2AWG wire, does a voltage drop test, and then derates to a lower amperage if the voltage drop is outside a certain...
