I called Lucid few times in the last month to schedule an annual maintenance. I am unable to reach a person most of the times. I was successful once and was told service dept would call me to schedule. No luck and it's been two weeks.

This never happened to me before with Lucid. Is anybody else facing this issue.

Yes, others are reporting difficulty scheduling service, depending upon which service center. Some are more overwhelmed and some not so much. Which one do you use?

I called my local service center and an advisor answered right away. It took 10 days for them to get back to me with an appointment. My appointment was for almost 3 months later 🤨. I stopped by the service center a few days later to ask a few questions. There were so many Lucids parked up and down the street out front I couldn’t believe it. I assume they’re waiting to be serviced. All the parking spaces for visiting customers were filled too with what I assume are cars waiting for service too. Had to park down the street. They really need to fix this mess.

I am in Dallas, previously serviced by a mobile van. They don't have a service center in Dallas nearest physical location is in Houston.

A service location is opening in Dallas soon which should improve things drastically . Be sure to always leave a message when you call or chose the call back option. Call earlier in the day as a late in the day call back request might not be successful. I've had good luck with Lucid calling back but generally dont get someone on the line.

It's why I got rid of mine. I don't have time for nonsense or wondering if/when I can get something as simple as an annual service performed.

I'm just living with my minor annoyances (slow fob, window not always closing on the first attempt, etc). I'd like to get a replacement fob but PAAK could end up arriving before I could even get into service.

What annual service needs to be done? Shouldn't be much, it's an EV. Tires are staggered so they can't rotate. Air filter maybe? I usually replace those myself if it's reachable (I haven't checked if it is on the Gravity yet).

I imagine that skipping annual service could be a reason to void the warranty. Hopefully Lucid wouldn't be obnoxious enough to go that far, given how hard they've made it to get service.

Please see attachment. In my case, I was trying to get 2nd year service and was completely ghosted after initial contact. This was also one that was advised could not be performed by a mobile tech.

This also contributed to my decision.

If they are voiding warranties for people not doing software updates, which Lucid should be able to perform at a later time anyway, then who knows what else they would do to void a warranty (like not adhering to the service schedule).

Lucid is not voiding warranties for not doing software updates. The only thing Lucid has done is charge to perform the updates in a very few number of cases when the last update are too far out of date. The rest of the warranty has not been affected in anyway.

In fact, that’s the law. They can only invalidate the part of the warranty if they can prove the issue was due to a lack of updates.

Thanks. Pretty minimal. I replace the fob battery many times per year anyway. 😅

Always nice to have them check everything, but at this point I suspect they're HAPPY to have people not call for service appointments.

They didn't cover this TCU replacement.

Thread 'TCU not being covered under warranty' https://lucidowners.com/threads/tcu-not-being-covered-under-warranty.15820/
That is because the lack of installing software updates explicitly bricked his TCU. That was, in fact, the reason, and was warned about for many months when that software update was released.

If his brakes had broken, they would have still been covered under warranty, for example.

So yes, precisely what I said. :)

Except you know...

Replacing the brake fluid.

(which is my guess as to why they said it would not be mobile service)

Brake fluid is one of the most overlooked maintenance items on vehicles, or at least American vehicles. Euro brands are good about recommending 2-3 year change intervals, but I'm willing to bet there is a large number of cars on the road here that have never had the fluid changed and they are operating just fine. The recommendation is based on the fluids natural tendency to absorb water which has a much lower boiling point than brake fluid which can lead to a "spongy" pedal during spirted driving. It can also lead to corrosion inside the system, but that takes years.

So, while I'm a fan of doing brake fluid exchanges, it's highly unlikely that waiting months or even a year or two is going to lead to any noticeable degradation by anyone but a pure track rat and it's certainly not going to "void the warranty".

While I don't flush out brake fluid as often as I should, I generally change it every 5 years.

I monitored the moisture level in my brake fluid in my Tesla. Was fine over 8 yrs. I think the recommendations for maintenance on ev with one pedal driving are way out of date. Besides poor design and material choices by Tesla, tires, 12v battery, and air filter were only maintenance issues over that span. I was shocked to see lucid had required annual maintenance.

Extended brake fluid change out intervals on EVs has little to do with one pedal driving. It has more to do with not mounting the master cylinder in a moist engine compartment. On an ICE the MC is much more subject to moisture, mainly from rain getting under the hood. The rain (as water or vapor released when it goes through the radiator) slowly makes its way through the vented reservoir cap degrading the fluid.
