Where is UX 3.0 for the Air?

You got a new CCCv2, which nobody told you you had to do. The upgraded CCC was the delivered product, not UX3.0.

They never promised CCCv2 would get you UX3.0; they only said CCCv1 would not. And that is still true.

But you have not paid a dime for UX3.0.

They did not take money for UX 3.0.
The chip was the enabler and I don't think anyone would have bought the chip without the promise (yes, it was a promise) for 3.0. We could go round. and round, and as I said, you are entitled to your opinion. Yes, no one forced us to buy it, and that is an irrelevant point. Check wth Volvo on how their case is going with a promise of Lidar they did not deliver. They are offering increasing settlements in that case, and the litigants aren't folding. Anyway, this isn't productive. I and hundreds of others were told the chip was needed for the software update. We purchased on that basis. I'm sure the update will get delivered (who knows when). It's in Lucid's best interest to get their cars on the same basic OS.

I did, as did many others, because of the increased infotainment speed. Furthermore, there are already some features gated on the chip, and those have been delivered. You did not buy UX3.0, you bought a new CCCv2.

It being an optional upgrade is certainly a relevant point.

Apples, meet oranges. Lucid delivered the CCCv2. Volvo didn’t deliver Lidar.

You do. But the software update isn’t what was sold to you; the chip was, for its other benefits.

Agreed.

Every time these complaints got out to the public, it’s bad PR for Lucid. That’s enough reason alone to upgrade to 3.0. However, I would like it fully tested and validated. It has to be right when it comes out. I’m willing to wait.
They’re sitting on a lot of unsold inventory and are pulling back on production. That doesn’t mean there won’t be a 27 Air. But it may be an awhile.
MY27 is out and no changes really. During investor day they already showed that air will get updates in MY28

If I were Lucid and I knew that the future existence of the company depended on the successful launch of Cosmos, I would call Air "good enough for now" and put 100% of my engineering effort on Cosmos. As an Air owner myself I know it's not what you want to hear but that's reality.
Literally what they did! MY27 has no real changes in the air. That being said they are working on 3.0UX for air that will be released by end of year and working on service because those will impact cosmos sales and help streamline OTA updates across their models.

"Our team is concentrating resources on releasing UX 3.0 for Lucid Air later this summer," is neither a promise nor a date. 6 months ago they were trying for that time frame. Anything I planned to do 6 months ago and haven't completed it yet? Yep. 🤣

Does Lucid still have a comms team? A well-run communications operation might be inclined to provide updates on "coming soon features" etc. to keep the Air owners - the early adopters - engaged and enthused. Elon was very good at that back in the day. If you start to lose the hearts and minds of your early adopters, you are toast. I agree with others that hopefully we will see UX 3 by the end of the year but that statement in March was just a forward-looking aspiration possibly (?) grounded in some vague timeline at the time which has undoubtedly slipped as they have gone through major upheaval since then.

Agree completely. Lucid would be smart to send owners an emailed monthly update on company news, including notional dates for software updates, upcoming features, available accessories, and links to reviews. Why should a rumor mill or year old no longer relevant comments from the company be the source of Lucid info?

You know my previous wife told me we’d be happy by the end of the summer. We divorced a few months back but I’m still not happy

Not the way many consumer laws work. Especially federal ones. If it leaves a false impression in the minds of a reasonable person it can mean big trouble. Many companies have had big payouts for less. When a representative of the company tells me "you need this installed to get our big software update" and if a few dozen more customers agree that's all she wrote.
Then Elon Musk should be in jail…..

Your car has all the hardware to drive itself and it’s coming in 2018, no 2020, no 2022, no 2024, by end of this year, actually we are very very close….

I did extensive research before purchasing an AGT last year. Nowhere in any of that research did I come across anything that said or suggested that FSD was imminent. And I’ve seen nor heard anything from Lucid that would suggest otherwise. I suppose you might have relied on something relayed by a salesperson. But unless those promises are conveyed in writing or can otherwise be verified, they are useless.

In short if FSD is important buy a Tesla.
2021
Lucid said the Air had 32 sensors, high onboard computing power and backup systems for “advanced autonomous driving and advanced driver assistance systems.” It said the Air would launch at Level 2 and would be capable of OTA upgrades, with Lucid expecting to enhance AD/ADAS over time.
March 2022
Lucid said DreamDrive Pro was “designed to grow in capability over time” through OTA software, backed by 14 cameras, lidar, five radars and 12 ultrasonic sensors. Lucid/NVIDIA called the cars “future-ready.”
2022 SEC filing
Lucid described Air as having backup systems for ADAS and “over time, increased levels of partial autonomy.”
2024 SEC filing
Lucid formally described the Air as having Level 2 ADAS with OTA capability. It discussed lane centering, curve control, lane changes and stop-and-go traffic.
Oct. 2025
Lucid announced its new autonomy roadmap with NVIDIA: “eyes-on, point-to-point driving (L2++)”, ultimately leading toward consumer Level 4.

So it looks like you've satisfied yourself that Lucid never claimed that FSD was imminent in the Air. I would agree that "advanced autonomous driving, capability over time, partial autonomy" is exactly what the Air has accomplished. If you bought your 25 AGT with DDP you likely had these features at purchase or shortly thereafter. Maybe you should have held out for a vehicle with Level 4 capabilities. But that was never going to be the Air. But if you’re left wanting more there are options available.

This thread, like many others on this forum, highlights the importance of ensuring that features important to you are already implemented in a vehicle (or anything else for that matter) that you are purchasing. Never buy on a promise. Unfortunately, these broken promises and stretched timelines occur in every industry. Consider Lucid V2H, Tesla battery swap, Fisker solar roof, Apple AirPower, etc.

You make an excellent point, Bobby. This kind of issue is far from unique. Still, every broken promise is bad PR for the breaker of the promise. And right now, Lucid doesn’t need any more bad PR.

On an off-topic note, the recent headlines about 27,000 cars recalled due to electrical system fault buried the lead. The headline should have said something like “Quick Software Fix Prevents Danger in 27,000 Cars” or something like that. But good news doesn’t get clicks. Bad news does.

They were shelved and confirmed but Lucid still keep saying we are working forever..
Air power- shelved
Fisker- gone to oblivion
Tesla- he can say anything he want 😂

I agree and disagree at the same time. The biggest issue is that like Tesla, Lucid initially took $10,000 promising L3 early on (later backpedaled and dropped the price) and what they've delivered today on the Air compared to the competition is certainly not worth $10,000. Apple never took money for AirPower before shelving it and I think your V2H mention is a good example, Its promised but was never a package people paid for so if someone purchased the vehicle on that promise and Lucid shelves it then while they have the right to be annoyed they never lost any money out of it.

Its the making promises and taking money upfront for it then pivoting with no consequence to the company is the real issue. It's going to be interesting to see if the class action against Rivian GEN 1 ADAS gets off the ground. If Rivian loses that then watch Lucid and Tesla be next in line.

Good points. I'd like to restate by saying this: if there's a feature really important to you in a car, make sure the car you buy already has it.
