My unlocking (which was great before) has become a little more sporadic since the 2.10.0 update. I used to have to have a brief wait about <10% of the time. Now it is more like at least a third of the time.

If I walk up to the car and it still hasn't opened, I depress the door handle of the passenger door. It seems to me that this sends a signal to "wake up: at which point it connects to your Bluetooth and opens up. Overall, unlocking does seem to work better than in the past. In fact, I now regularly get the autolock/unlock disabled warning because the car now detects the phone from a further distance than previously. Gotta take the good with the bad I guess 🤷

When i have issue with unlock and with the case i reported, even pressing the handles didnt help :(

For me locking / unlocking has been perfect since 2.10.0. So crazy how it’s variable depending on the car.

The unlocking is the literal SINGLE most infuriating problem with the AIr. With ONE caveat - I refuse to carry the Fob. I hate that. The fact my phone is able to unlock means it should reliably unlock at all times. However, I know I am hurting my own mental health by not just having the damn thing with me. It's in service now for half shaft and normal service bulletins, great service team in Scottsdale, super friendly and always helpful.

While it would be great if every feature was 100% flawless, it does sound like refusing to carry the fob is a case of being stubborn to your own detriment.

It works SOME of the time. Sometimes, it takes multiple pushes and many seconds to elicit a response.

This kind of lock/unlock anomaly doesn't happen on other cars I own. My AGT, my Rivian R1S, and my Honda Clarity are all parked in the same garage. When I enter the garage, R1S and the Honda respond every single time. The Lucid is a crap shoot. Outside my garage and in a shopping center (e.g., Costco) parking lot, the AGT's unlock performs even worse.

Yes, I know there are other good things about the Lucid, but this kind of aggravation on a $150k+ car is insanity!

I still do not have any issues either. My rear parcel shelf may have a slight rattle, so I’ll ask them to fix that, but that’s it.

He was not taking on others; others more habitually post their negative experiences, and positives ones often get lambasted as “fake” or “shills.” Moreover, they don’t post as often because people don’t generally come to forums to shout “everything is going well!”

That’s all. Nobody said you can’t post yours.

Some folks do have a habit of posting on every thread, related or unrelated, but that’s not the point.
 
I wonder if there's an actual hardware difference in key functionality between older Airs and newer ones. I am not questioning anyone else's experience, but my 2024 Air has been flawless with my phone as a key. I may have to wake up my phone by taking it out of my pocket or unlocking it. In very rare cases, I had to open the app. But if I do that, my doors open 100% of the time. Even with my BMW iX with UWB, I occasionally need to wake up the phone before the car unlocks. I have an iPhone.
 
I've done that same Lucid Owner dog & pony show to anyone who asks me about it before, several occasions. Even gave one to a Toyota dealer at a rest stop. Love showing it off and talking about what it can do. Worst mid-presentation glitch I've ever had is the frunk not opening on the first press. Totally can relate. Sorry yours decided to take that moment to misbehave.
 
Next Lucid Air owners meet you all can run a simultaneous test to see whose car opens first or last:) Then we can quantify how many really have a problem or not....
 
I've had the car choose to not unlock. Typically I just laugh and tell them it only happens when showing someone the car (which is mostly true).

Then the person hops into the driver or passenger seat and forgets about that entirely. Just like I do.The car is absolutely remarkable.

Take a moment to appreciate the car's silhouette or marvel at the clouds as you shake your fists into the sky at the sheer injustice of it all.
 
For those of you assuming that this a phone-as-key problem that could be solved the carrying the fob: I have always carried the fob, and I still regularly get locked out. About once a year I try using just my phone, and find it less reliable so go back to the fob. For this reason alone, I don't recommend the car to most people.

People here on this forum have said that it's a problem approaching from the rear of the car. But 99% of the time, that's how I approach my car, and if it doesn't work, the car is broken as far as I can tell.
 
We should also account for differences in users' tolerance for the problem. There have been many instances in prior threads where someone will post that they never have any problems unlocking/locking, and then go on to describe how sometimes it takes several seconds, or several handle pushes to get the car to respond. In my opinion this is a failure, but I believe others would disagree.

Same for me. Used to be about 95% reliable, and the remaining 5% was literally 2 seconds of waiting. Now with 2.10.0 it's about 75% reliable and the wait times are sometimes up to ~8 seconds which I've never had before since I bought the car in June 2025.
 
Hmm I have the opposite problem and I usually have to exit the app to stop it
If I do much as look in its general direction it unlocks like it can’t wait to hit the road
My dog is more relaxed and he’s an Airedale Terrier, not known for patience
 
For those that are having trouble and waiting for the car to unlock, try pressing the door handle down. It's not like you're doing anything at the moment anyways...😅
