Gravity Bugs / Issues

It’s interesting how Lucid said the enhanced ambient lighting was only available with the HUD because of the different wiring harness. I definitely do not have the HUD yet my rear left door recently turned on the extra ambient lighting? It’s one year old today and I have never seen this light on till now.
The missing wiring harness that's connected to the HUD is for the front lighting on the dashboard. Yours looks like your doors have it but I doubt you have lighting on the dash?

Someone made these images a while back showing where the standard lighting areas are (first image) and then where the added ones are for the tech package (second image):

The wire harness is also for the front doors, it’s right there in the table. Again, I have the standard lighting, no tech package. My dash doesn’t light up, my front doors do not light up, my passenger side rear door does not light up, only my driver side rear door. As per the photo.

I'll have to go searching for the original discussion (although IIRC it was in one of the FB groups I got banned from) - my understanding is that the harness for the HUD provided power for the light strip on the dashboard as well as the controller used for the dynamic lighting, which was the entire point of telling people that dynamic lighting was only available with the HUD also installed. I also seem to remember at least one other person without the lighting also had the light strips on their doors where they shouldn't have.

I remember the same discussion. Wonder if there’s a new bug or just something weird with a few cars.

One of the (few) things that I praised the Gravity on for being exceptionally dependable was the wireless Android Auto connection. It was working perfectly every single drive, since AA was supported. .

Well, that changed 3-4 days ago. Suddenly it's going through periods where it's temporarily freezing up, and some of those it's disconnecting entirely before automatically trying to reconnect many seconds later, repeatedly. 😣

Try deleting and re-adding your phone.

so my driver's side window is slightly off track/loose to the point where my window overlaps where it belongs
so I hear bad wind noise and it might even leak, but I have found a temp solution
temp fix is to roll the window down while the door is closed and roll it back up- the window catches the foam and is forced into place
Since i am in KoP thursday for my wife's iFly appointment I am going to bring to service and wait for the fix, which service has arranged for me. If it turns into longe rissue they will get a car for me

Had the exact same problem as have a few others on the forum. In my case it started happening on a week trip. I was alarmed that it might get really messed up or brake the window so when closing the door from the outside I would push the window towards the front of the car just as it closed. That wouldn't work if I was in the car, so I used a suction cup device made to pull glass off mac computers to do the same from the inside.

When I showed this to the Torrance service center people they liked my dedication apparently and said they happened to have a roving service guy coming who could fix it on the spot if I came back in an hour. I did, even talked to the guy and he said it was a known assembly loose bolt problem. He had it fixed in maybe 15 minutes, don't remember.

Definitely get it fixed ASAP

I've got the same problem on the drivers side window. Give the local (Milbrae for me) service center a call?

Pic of it off alignment

I had that problem too. Had my local service centre fix it when the Gravity was in for another far more serious problem - coolant leak due to a failed "ferrule seal". Problem with window hasn't recurred. Neither problem has, I hasten to add.

Yeah. I’ve had this issue twice on my Gravity - once with driver window and once with rear driver window. It just happened again with driver window. Each time they’ve replaced regulators. It’s incredibly annoying. The windows have also been stuck all the way down twice. I will deal with the noise this time until something else happens as it’s not worth waiting a month for it to go in service to get it fixed.

All of this for frameless windows. I’d rather the windows work 100% of the time like they do on our Rivian. This has probably been the single most annoying issue in my year of ownership. And it always seems to happen on roadtrips.

Argh.

This happened to me with the 6.3.4 update and no amount of deleting my phone and resending will fix it. CarPlay works if plugged in, but not wireless. If issue persists, I suggest reporting to the software email from Lucid. They’re very responsive.

As I'm thinking about this... it might be possible that we've never lowered and raised the windows on ours. We like or HVAC here in the south.
I lower my window daily for my dog who is in the second row and so I have to lower driver window to avoid buffeting. I’ve done this in our Rivian R1S for years with zero issues. Same with our X.

Forget about the old fob issues, how Lucid has managed to have so many window issues (at least on my car, to be fair), is tough. SC told me they do have known issues with the regulators, so I expect it’s a broader issue than just me. Ugh.

I love love love the car. On a road trip with two adults and five kids this week and the kids love it and talk about how much more third row space they have versus the R1S. But these nagging items. My car was just in for service four weeks ago for the driver side rear window not closing (exact issue I am having with driver window for third time now), cooling valve, etc.

It’s head and shoulders above our R1S and X but its issues have pushed several friends of mine to get an R1S instead. Boo. I want Lucid to survive as I think their driving experience for BEVs, when working, is just f’ing amazing.

Same here. It's a luxury car, afterall. I never drive it with the windows down.

I don't even use the drive thru lane at fast food restaurants. But I do occasionally park in parking garages that I use a parking card to access.

So far (knock on wood) all my issues are fairly benign annoyances, not serious problems. Some are annoying every drive, which has a cumulative effect, but on balance they don't come close to negating the things that are really great about this car. The interior space and cargo is amazing. The range is great. The DCFC charging is great. The upper display paired with the squircle is great. I love not having to look through the steering wheel where the corners are always blocked on other cars.

The power is great, the steering is great. The cameras are solid. There are multiple things I would like to see tweaked with the driving experience, but for the most part it's great. Overall I love the vehicle, despite ongoing issues with the fob, the windows, the built-in connectivity, no SXM antenna, etc.
