I leased my Lucid Gravity and took delivery in September 2025. Unfortunately, during the very first week of ownership, I had to bring it back because of technical issues. Lucid kept the vehicle for approximately 15 days.
In January 2026, the vehicle needed service again. This time, I was advised to wait for an upcoming software update instead of bringing it in. The update resulted in several noticeable improvements, but I continued to experience technical problems.
In April, I tried to schedule another service appointment. The earliest appointment Lucid could offer was August 10—yes, that meant waiting approximately four months just to get the vehicle into the service center.
After waiting all that time, I finally dropped off my Gravity at the Lucid Service Center in Costa Mesa, California. I was then informed that the repair process would take at least nine weeks. That is an incredibly long time to be without a vehicle, especially while I am still responsible for the monthly lease payments.
Two months of lease payments amount to approximately $4,000–$5,000. Has anyone experienced a similar situation? Would it be reasonable to ask Lucid to reimburse or cover my lease payments—or provide an account credit—for the period during which the vehicle is unavailable?
Has Lucid ever offered anyone payment assistance, goodwill reimbursement, or another form of compensation in a similar situation?
I would also appreciate any advice regarding other options I should consider, including possible rights under the California Lemon Law or my lease agreement.
Thank you in advance for sharing your experiences or recommendations.
