I just use my clicker/remote. I didn’t know this was so bothersome?
Yeah, that should be seamless. But I think the essence of the complaint that kicked off this whole thread is that currently a lot of people are finding it challenging to talk to Lucid, and we all know that scheduling a service appointment can take a long time. I agree with @knewman: Lucid is not delivering the level of customer service that people rightly expect from the manufacturer of $100K+ vehicles. This is hardly the only thread where people discuss how hard it is to get ahold of Lucid. It takes a single service visit. It can be done via mobile. Seems seamless to me?

In all 3 of my cars with Homelink, it needs to be powered on to use the HL button. Porsche, Tesla, BMW. The button does nothing if you break the window but can’t turn accessories on, versus just pushing the remote button on the visor. You can fully appreciate an EV and never set up Homelink. The two are not, in any way, related. There is nothing stopping someone from fully enjoying their EV with a clicker.
It’s… just… a… clicker.
It doesn’t matter to many people, apparently, who only have one garage door and no reason to move from their clicker.
Also, there’s nothing stopping a thief from breaking your window and activating Homelink. I don’t think you need a key to activate it.
Not bothersome but also not on-brand with a tech forward, high end luxury experience either.I just use my clicker/remote. I didn’t know this was so bothersome?
To me, this is the best argument for Homelink. I don't mind having a clicker, and find it just as easy to use. But it's nice to have a little better security. In all 3 of my cars with Homelink, it needs to be powered on to use the HL button. Porsche, Tesla, BMW. The button does nothing if you break the window but can’t turn accessories on, versus just pushing the remote button on the visor.
Except that we're chatting in a forum thread that would suggest it's anything but. Seamless for you and me maybe, but it's more important that these things are seamless for the lowest common denominator user if Lucid expects to be moving serious volume. It takes a single service visit. It can be done via mobile. Seems seamless to me?
Exactly that, both Lucid and Tesla included it in some trims/models and offered it as an option in others. No need for the snarky reaction. And Lucid didn't charge for it in the Air. What was your point again?
Actually you do need the clicker to activate home link as it has to sync to your clicker. The Thief could activate homelink if in fact you had the clicker in the car but what's the point? If I'm the thief I take the clicker and figure out where your home is and rob it that way. This is why I use homelink, there's nothing for someone to steal (except for the entire car) and if they don't have my key fob or key card then good luck. You can fully appreciate an EV and never set up Homelink. The two are not, in any way, related. There is nothing stopping someone from fully enjoying their EV with a clicker.

This is not the case in the 2012 toyota prius that I have. Just gain access to the car and press the homelink button on the underside of the rear view mirror. In all 3 of my cars with Homelink, it needs to be powered on to use the HL button. Porsche, Tesla, BMW. The button does nothing if you break the window but can’t turn accessories on, versus just pushing the remote button on the visor.
What kind of cockamamie BS is this?? We need to be outraged by trivial things!!I don’t know the stats, but it’s not a crazy idea that while this forum laments and complains about lack of Homelink or HFDA or V2H, there are plenty of people just… driving the car, enjoying it, and moving on with their day.
You can’t add, even with Tesla. You can either call them, or tell them at your service visit. Not a big deal in the bigger context.I had the same confusion with my Gravity Touring. I never asked about Homelink because it came standard on my Air Pure. Once I realized my Gravity didn’t have it, I assumed it was cut for cost savings. I’m sure not every person wants Homelink, so not including it as standard makes some sense to me.
However, if it had been available to select as an option at purchase, I would have requested it and my Gravity could have been delivered with it already installed. That would have saved Lucid a service appointment and would have saved me a long wait to get it. Not to mention, it took me some time and digging here on the forum to figure out why I didn’t have it and how to get it installed.
One more thing to report, after I made the appointment to have Homelink installed, one rear seat quit folding down. I could not make a service appointment for that in the app because I already had a service appointment in the system. Local service team ended up adding the seat problem to my Homelink appointment manually, after a few attempts to reach them (the atrocious phone system is an entirely different issue that needs to be addressed). That is a waste of everyone’s time. I should be able to add new items to an existing service appointment, especially because the wait time to get in is months at this point.
These are my two recommendations for improving systems to save everyone time and manual effort.
yes you canYou can’t add, even with Tesla
I’m not using any GDO. I’m using Samsung Smart things. My phone is used to determine my location and when to open my garage door. Are you using a GDO White?
Which Garage Door Openers are compatible with Konnected GDOs?
Between the GDO White and GDO blaQ, Konnected has a smart controller for your garage doorsupport.konnected.io
Let’s be clearYeah, that should be seamless. Oh, I agree; but that has nothing to do with whether installing Homelink is seamless or not, which is what I was responding to. It is, in fact, seamless.Yeah, that should be seamless. But I think the essence of the complaint that kicked off this whole thread is that currently a lot of people are finding it challenging to talk to Lucid, and we all know that scheduling a service appointment can take a long time. I’m not at home to test it, but I’m pretty certain that you don’t need a PIN or key to use Homelink in the Air or Gravity. Someone should test it.In all 3 of my cars with Homelink, it needs to be powered on to use the HL button. Porsche, Tesla, BMW. The button does nothing if you break the window but can’t turn accessories on, versus just pushing the remote button on the visor.
It is seamless. That service is overwhelmed is a real, but separate issue.Except that we're chatting in a forum thread that would suggest it's anything but. Seamless for you and me maybe, but it's more important that these things are seamless for the lowest common denominator user if Lucid expects to be moving serious volume.
