Gravity Tips and Tricks

The Lucid Gravity is capable of playing music from a USB drive that is plugged into a USB port.
  • The USB drive needs to be properly formatted (usually FAT32 or exFAT), and files must be in standard readable formats such as MP3, WAV, OGG, or FLAC. The infotainment system will allow browsing and playback from the USB drive within the vehicle's media interface.
  • Shuffle, repeat, and resume features have been added via recent over-the-air updates, allowing for more flexible playback from USB media.
Two USB ports are located on the back of the center console, easily accessible for second-row passengers. Additional USB-C ports can be found on the rear side of the driver and front passenger seats
 
I just discovered I can turn off the turn signal blinker by moving the lever in the same direction as the blinker (to the first detent). This is nice - no more accidental turn signal in the opposite direction when trying to turn off the blinker!

Now I’m wondering if this is also true in other cars but I never knew. I’ll have to test when I can pull myself away from the Gravity. I’ve been driving it exclusively and have no desire to drive my other cars…

It wasn’t always true in Lucid either. It was apparently a Tesla thing and enough former Tesla owners complained that they added it.

Is it possible to resume playing from usb when getting in the car? I have to manually pick one to restart playing from usb. Really hope it can pick up from where it stopped automatically.

Hear you, same frustration. I believe they're working on this resume feature. At least I keep hearing murmurs.

If I'm not mistaken you can push to 1st detent in either direction to cancel signal

Correct. Originally it was in the opposite direction. They made it either due to enough complaints that Tesla (and possibly others) did it that way.
 
Anyone know if there’s a way to set a default ride height? The roads around where I live are like Swiss cheese. I’m fine if the car wants to lower at highway speeds but I’d really like it if it went back to high when I slow down

When I leave the freeway and stop at a streetlight, the Gravity seems to raise up to standard height. But, I drive at standard, so it is actually going back to normal - the move to low for efficiency was a temporary adjustment.

Goes back to standard for me every time even though I drive at high. I think is just resets to standard

It happens like 50% of the time, I was tempted to file a bug on it since it never remembers what artist I selected in the UI and just returns back to the main USB UI and sometimes even USB 2 even though my music is on USB 1.

You can change it from AUTO when you first get in to drive, but it will drop on any mode change or above 45 mph. But no default height. You would also have to turn off easy entry height change.

GRAVITY TIP & TRICKS

Soft reboot – While in Park press break pedal, Cancel (X), and Voice Assistant (Mic) buttons for 10 – 15 seconds. You should hear a single chime to release the buttons. Wait for the screens to load.

Hard reboot – While in Park press break pedal, Cancel (X), and Voice Assistant (Mic) buttons for 20 – 25 seconds. You should hear double chime to release the buttons. Wait for the screens to load.

Vehicle power cycle – Park, exit, lock the vehicle and walk away at least 50 ft (or use a good, working faraday pouch for key fob, or remove battery?). Wait for one minute and return to your vehicle. Wait for the screens to load.

Won't detect the keyfob or card

Remove the battery, wait 30 seconds and reinsert the battery in the keyfob while pressing the Vehicle Unlock button.

“Hey Lucid”

Hands-free, AI-powered voice assistant that lets drivers interact with the vehicle in natural language, much like speaking to another person. By saying the wake phrase “Hey Lucid” (or pressing the steering wheel voice button), the system actively listens via the cabin microphones and processes your request in real time: Traffic, weather, EV range, nearby charging stations, request information from owner's manual.

The system provides personalized suggestions (such as restaurants or alternate routes) and answers general queries on sports, news, stocks, and more, pulling information from online sources or internal knowledge as needed. Examples:
• “Hey Lucid, take me home.”
• “Hey Lucid, set the rear temperature to 71.”
• “Hey Lucid, play ‘California Dreamin’ on Spotify.”
• “Hey Lucid, how do I disable Lane Departure Protection?”
• “Hey Lucid, tell me a joke.”

Voice Recognition - Setup
• Access voice settings by tapping the Gear icon on the Pilot Panel, then selecting Applications > Lucid Assistant.
• Enable or disable hands-free wake word access (“Hey Lucid”) by toggling the Lucid Hands-Free option in the settings

Swipe to secondary screen
Swipe from the top right of the ClearView cockpit to move a screen (map, music, phone) to the lower Pilot Panel screen

Lowering your Gravity upon parking risks curb damage to the lower side of the door.

  • Tell SA to not have them install front plate bracket (unless you want them to)
  • Have the delivery advisor (DA) program all key fobs & cards (purchase extra CR2450 battery to leave in the Gravity glove compartment)
  • Recommend toggling off these alerts, unless you don't mind getting constant alerts while driving
    • DreamDrive > Drive Assist > Safety Features
      • Posted Speed Update Alert
      • Distracted Driver Alert
      • Drowsy Driver Alert

Thanks for starting this Klinkman! I just got my Gravity GT 3 days ago, and realized what looked so intuitive in the showroom intro isn't quite as easy on my own! This is definitely helpful. :~)

Yes, I figured that out in my Air after I'd had it at least a year! It is indeed helpful.

My Gravity wasn't able to read an exFAT formatted USB drive for music. The same drive works fine formatted as FAT32. On Windows, you can use Ridgecrop's guiformat tool to format even a very large drive:
 
Anyone hates the lack of functionality on the left Clearview cockpit, there's literally 4 options and all are of no use. Coming from Model X am so used to seeing Nav view there. Even seeing currently playing music will be helpful. But nothing. fact that wiper, lights, none of those options are accessible from steering wheel and I have to fully reach an arms length to get them feels like a poor design choice.

Congrats, and you're welcome. The thread is serving as intended, glad new owners are finding value and thanks for that reminder. My Gravity journey has been generally very positive and hope yours is the same -- one of the top 3 vehicles I've owned. (That said, it's currently in service for the 2nd row squeak recall. :confused:) Enjoy it, it's some well engineered driving pleasure.

I have never been able to swipe as suggested to the lower panel. I know it doesn't work with Android auto or carplay when it is active but if I go to the primary lucid screen I cannot do that swipe. Any tips?
