Is service overwhelmed?

We all agree that building new service centers and staffing them can’t be done overnight. But what can be done overnight is hire one extra front office staff person for search SC to first of all ANSWER the F—ING PHONE. Then they can also manage a more customer friendly wait list. If your car has critical drivability issues, it is brought in immediately and waits it’s time. But if it is none critical such as annual service, or squeaky second row seat, etc., you are put in queue and given a call a day or two before you are top of queue. The amount of money saved on Enterprise car rentals would easily pay for these extra employee’s.

My calls are always answered. Go figure. I got my technicians personal cell phone. Dudes a rockstar

Yes, I recognize that there are a few SC’s that are in good shape. But there are also quite a few that are in very bad shape - Houston.

Agreed on the long wait. My car has been at Millbrae for a month. Great communication from the service advisor but a week to be assigned an adviser and almost 3 weeks to start looking at the car makes no sense. They are paying for a loaner from Enterprise so I'm fine but the expense of 3 weeks of nothing done on the car at all is kind of crazy.

I agreed with that. I totally understand that they are overworked and not enough technicians to work on all the cars.

My complaint was mostly on how they treated my car under their possession for over a month. I really thought they would stored my car inside a covered garage.
Yeah I’ve had that happen too though. I’ve gotten mine back dirty inside with some random parts lol

It’s bizarre.

Love my '22 AGT but the 21s are pretty dinged up. Talked to mobile service tech on last visit for filters, wipers, etc (DFW area). He said he could bring me new wheels when I was ready. Last month I hit a big pothole ...
Just a quick follow-up from that original June 8th post. Lucid mobile tech Brandon got in touch with me at the very end of June. I then got a quote for the wheels and confirmed it on July 3. No word since. I'll post when something happens.

I was SHOCKED how filthy the car was.
...
I always ask dealer services not to wash my car since they are notorious to scratching it.

I'm confused. They gave you back your car, unwashed and uncleaned, because that was how you specifically asked for it back, and you're upset they followed your instructions? Surely, if they had cleaned it for you (which I let my service center do all the time, because they deal with many PPF'd/ceramic'd Lucids), there would have been no bee frass or anything else, since they'd have... cleaned the car.

I'm not trying to be annoying; I just genuinely don't understand how "I told them not to wash my car, and then they didn't, so I'm mad at them for doing what I told them to do" is a thing.

Also, the dust wouldn't have scratched your car, because of the PPF/ceramic you mentioned (unless you didn't get the whole car PPF'd, I suppose).

I agree with the issues re: long waits, etc.; I disagree with this 'they returned it unclean' piece of it, and I understand you wish it had been stored covered, but I don't know that that is a reasonable ask, given that they have many cars to store and someone needs to end up on the top floor.

I hate to go against the flow here, but my sales center and service center have been outstanding. I had to buy my car twice from the same sales center due to some misinformation I received about leasing, and that was flawless (although a little weird lol). I just had my first service experience. Two techs showed up at my house in a mobile unit, did the 1-year service, replaced a rear diffuser that my hauler destroyed, and did a recall or two while they were here. Super nice guys, and a super nice service experience.

I came to this forum to research the Air while I was considering which vehicle to replace my last EV. I read about all the problems, particularly with the FOB/access issues. I decided that the downsides were small compared to the upside. I got my AGT last June 30th, and it has been flawless. By far the best new car experience I've ever had.

No car is perfect, but this car is way perfecter than most.

Lucid Service Center in Roswell is great. I had a fluid leak, likely pink battery coolant noted on Sunday morning. I called the service center in Roswell on Sunday and left a message. Bianca called me around 9:30 on Monday morning and arranged for a flatbed pickup of my Lucid Air GT from Nashville to Atlanta on Wednesday. She called me when the car arrived safely and arranged for a rental while my car was being serviced. Very punctual and professional. I look forward to getting my repaired car back soon! Thanks Bianca and the team at Roswell Service Center.

I just today got the email that my wheels and tires are being assembled and will be installed at my home next week. Relieved.

Let's just agree to disagree.

Yes, I always asked service not to wash my car when I'm at the BH location. But, this is the 1st time that the exterior of the car was this FILTHY. It was obviously stored outside exposed to the elements for OVER one month in the hot sun.

Again, I'm NOT mad at service for following my instruction of not washing the car....I'm so glad they remembered my instruction.

I AM mad about the way they treated my expensive car under their possession...by leaving it OUTSIDE for over a month. This car is my "baby", and it is always garaged. If they want to keep my car for this long, I think they need to store it safely, away from elements. I can understand storing the car outside is acceptable if its only for a few days; not over a month.

Wait until you get your first scratch or door ding and it becomes a lot less important 🤣.

In all seriousness, though, I agree, as I’m still in the baby-the-car period, keeping it in the garage and finding covered parking whenever possible. The service center may not have had a choice, though. I don’t think anyone planned to keep cars for a month, let alone plan out covered parking for all the cars backed up in the service center.

The service turnaround time is one of the things I’m hoping the new leadership team will address. I can’t imagine it’s not on their radar screen. It will take time for Lucid to implement changes, though.

I got my technician's number too! So now he knows personally who to ignore, which he does. :)

Bummer! Mine has been responsive so far. Very apologetic for the state of their service department right now. I told him it’s not bad compared to the stories I read on here. 😂

Yes...I'm one of those owners. I keep my "baby" clean as a whistle ALL THE TIME....even if I take my car out to get groceries at the local market. When I come home I would spend at least 15 min dusting it then clean off any "bee poops" with a spray detailer. I know....I'm obsessed. And to see my "baby" so filthy really got under my skin.

All of this could have been avoided if Lucid service would just say "we don't have anything available til the end of the year for your year 2 maintenance". But instead, they made me bring the car in and get "in the queue " for over a month, waiting for a technician. Again, if they are going to keep my "baby" for that long, I expected that they would garaged it covered and not in the open.

Now they have a unhappy owner, and also racking up a rental car fee for a Mercedes for over a month at Enterprise. Again, I understand if they are swamped. And as long as I have a rental to drive to work, I'm cool with over a month wait.

BUT...a filthy "baby" is not acceptable.

I definitely agree that service is broken and needs to be addressed. However - cars get dirty and then cars get cleaned. That would be the last of my worries with Lucid service - so it comes home filthy on the outside, and I would wash it myself. The other service issues are way more critical for sure - maybe next time let them clean it for you. You are kinda putting them in a no-win situation by telling them not to clean it and then being mad that it is filthy. Lucid doesn’t have multi-floor parking garages at their disposal in most locations to store all the cars in for service.

It’s just metal and plastic - it’s not a baby to anyone but you.

I came to this realization awhile ago myself. I used to obsessively detail my cars and I then I realized it’s just a tool to enjoy. Now they all just get run through the automatic and I lease something new when it’s done.

The Beverly Hills location has wash rack.. I have only had field service for past year or more, but when they washed my car there a couple of times it came out looking good and free of scratches. The good news is that they are splitting that location into two hubs... They are opening a new service site in Downtown area, and also adding more mobile techs.
