So WSJ reported today that AI will be driving demand for electricity faster than utilities may be able to deliver!! BMW has announced they will be providing V2H/V2G capability for their upcoming EV's. What is Lucid waiting for?? When will the promised V2H be available???

For their Neue Klasse models, which are coming in 2025... the "promise" is no different from what Lucid has stated.

I for one (stupidly) took the bait and trusted what they said would come to fruition but they're no different than any other company of overpromising and underdelivering. Bobby says it best, don't buy on what a company promises, buy on what it's sold with. It's all just marketing hype to move more vehicles.

It's also why when recommending Lucid to others I tell them to not fork out the $$ for DDPro now. Its simply not worth it when they haven't delivered a single thing to the suite for 18+ months and lets be honest, Highway Assist isn't a "Pro" feature. It should have come with the car from day 1. Will definitely be more cautious on my next Lucid purchase and probably take the "wait and see" approach before purchasing another one.

V2H capability will be common on many EVs by 2025-2026. Only the F150 and Leaf offer this currently. Polestar, Volvo, GM have stated they are working on it.

And hopefully utilities (are you listening PG&E??) will provide incentives to utilize V2G during high demand periods.

AI's grid demand drives concerns in my mind that go well beyond the V2H issue, but if vested interests had allowed the development of a robust network of connected EVs, it would sure have helped to alleviate the daily cycles of supply and demand. Especially at its inception and rising acceptance, I can picture AI driving demand that rivals energy-hogging Bitcoin mining, but on a far grander scale. I expect that surge of demand, coupled with supply constraints exacerbated by the current administration's disdain for alternate energy sources, could lead to grid failures, sustained demand even in the current 'off-peak' hours, and significant price hikes. Not that I don't think EVs are the place to be for the long haul, but I worry that the shift of demand over supply will take quite some time to resolve. I may be dead wrong.
