What is the component located between the overhead console light buttons and the rear view mirror?
Looks like it could be a camera, but the only interior camera I know of is the one behind the awesome squircle.

See black arrow.

I wondered same thing today. Got to be a camera. Maybe one day we will get access to it. I miss that in my Tesla as I could check on my dog…

Looking at the Dream Drive component locations, there are three cameras (8, 9, and 3) in that area.

3. Front multifunction camera
8. Front narrow angle camera
9. Front wide angle camera

Locating the cameras and sensors is on my To Do list.

Yeah, I don’t think it’s shown in the manual but it really looks like it’s a camera…now I have to go look!

It was covered with a plastic protector, which makes me think it’s a camera versus a light sensor for auto dimming rear view mirror - but it could be that. It’s shown in the manual pics but not noted anywhere as far as I can tell.

Hmmm.
Your idea of a light sensor seems more plausible to me.

I figured it was a cabin occupancy camera, but this is a good point that it's not noted in the manual.

I think it's more for Halo Secure than DreamDrive

Ahhh - good point, but still odd they don’t mention it. Maybe they will when Halo Secure is more than just “your car got picked up by a crane”…

Well than interior component is definitely not one of those three cameras (8,9, and 3) shown in the Dream Drive Component Locations graphic.
Looking closely at the overhead console from outside, those three cameras are facing forward; "front" cameras.

The suggestion by @hydbob of it being related to Halo Secure makes sense.
