Yay Hardware upgrade CPU and memory

My issue isn’t just a slow processor, but often I have to press the touch screen 3 or 4 times for something to actually select (like a radio station or folding the mirrors in)

Do you have those issues with the newer chip?
Assuming your screens aren’t broken, and that this is lag, then yes, the new chip should fix that.

That’s what I mean by “snappiness.” I don’t wait anymore when tapping things on the screen. The nav map moves around without so much as a hiccup. Etc.

I humbly admit I was wrong 😑 The superchargers I had successfully used were outfitted with magic docks (even though I used my adapter instead)

I tried it at a V3 supercharger today with no magic docks and got the same result you did

Bummer 😞
I appreciate you coming back here and posting your experience. It’s not easy (for most people) to admit they were wrong. And, to say that. It shows character. Thank you

I don't even have that kind of issue with the old chip so I'm not sure what to say. Have you tried rebooting (air logo reset / steering wheel reset) to see if that helps?

It might just be the screen protector I put on the pilot panel 🤷‍♂️

Either way, I’m getting the new chip. Definitely excited about eliminating the lag time on maps and music

Really glad you helped me figure it out before I got stuck at a supercharger that didn’t work! Never occurred to me that the ones I tested the adapter on had magic docks, so they’ll work on any car

I went into my spam all the way back to June 28th and NOTHING! I'm starting to wonder if I got dropped from notifications or something?

I am in the same boat. I have 2024 pure with DD premium. I never got this email. I checked with the service and was told it is most likely because of the new CCC (v2). They told me anyone qualified would have received the email. But we know email is not perfect. Being skeptical, I did some benchmark tests with a stopwatch. Profile switching is completed in 8-10 seconds, 360 camera loads in 3-5 seconds, no log when zooming in and out of the maps, and no interruption for audio, etc., when I open multiple apps. Given the results of these tests, based on data shared by others such as @borski, I am assuming I indeed have the V2. Do you by chance have a V2 as well? Was your CCC ever replaced? Can you do some benchmark tests like I did?

Or give Service a call. Hope they probably have a better way to look it up now.

No worries, the time will come!

I haven't been in for ANY service since July 2024 so I doubt I would have had an upgraded chip installed and I have a 2023 (not a 2024) but I could do some stopwatch tests (maybe tomorrow?) to see for comparison sake :)

Invite only and only after you’ve learnt the secret handshake to be allowed entry :p

You can sign up here

And the moral of the story is... I need to check that email account more often. I had an invite and didn't see it. :(

Just trying to figure out if it is worth it for me. I have 13 months left on my lease. Is it worth about $90 per month?
Imagine your screen being more responsive than it is now? Is that worth $90? It likely depends how slow you think it is now. I personally find it to be fine as is.

Got a call from my Mobile tech just now that he validate a software scan from the car and I indeed have V2 CCC. For reference, this car was built in April 2024 and it has massage seats and DD premium. If you are in the same boat, give service a call and/or do some benchmark tests as above. Closing the loop incase it benefits others.

In a sense, I have. I turned in a 22 Touring with the old chip and got a new '25 Touring with the new chip. Honestly, the answer for me is no... I guess the UI is a tiny bit more responsive, but there's not a thing I can think of where it was like "wow, that's so much better now!" I would not have paid $1000 just for this upgrade, at least until there are some new features for the new chip that the old can't handle.

There are other things about the '25 that I really love over the '22, but "UI responsiveness" wouldn't have even occurred to me, much less made my list.
Future updates …..that’s why you get it…..

Not at all. One touch for everything.

In terms of the everyday operation of my Lucid, can someone tell me how, “double the memory, double the storage and twice the computer power” matters?

more responsive UI. Specifically less delay between when you input a command and receive the desired response. It's the difference between a slow computer and fast computer. That's what it means in the short term.

Long term, there might be a time where certain software features are ONLY available to cars with the newer chip...similar to how game designers target specific consoles. At some point, you can't have games with modern features/graphics running on a PlayStation 2...you need the PS5. Same thing here...it's just early days.

Upgraded the chip at service and getting my car back today! Super excited! Happy to answer any questions!

I can say as a Sapphire owner and a Rivian owner that the keyless entry still sucks on the Lucid. My Rivian unlocks when I get near. My Sapphire makes me take my phone out of my pocket almost always. Because of the Rivian I know how it should work.
My keyless entry works perfectly when I do not want to enter the car, such as going to throw trash out via the garage and passing the Car. However if I actually need to drive it, there is a 50-50 shot it opens as I approach it. In this case I can wait 30 seconds til the car becomes active by sensing the phone or push the door handle to open the doors. Taking the phone out is a last resort. I own the 2022 Air GT.

Please let us know what difference if any you are able to feel/experience after this change. Thanks.

Awesome! How long did the service take? I just dropped mine off also. Initially had an appointment to fix the leather in the drivers seat but was able to add the upgrade to the service.
