Hi all.

I’m considering putting window tints on my lease 2025 Air. Historically I’ve never had any issue returning a lease vehicle with tints put on it until I leased my first Tesla about six years ago. Tesla wanted to charge an astronomical rate to remove the tints. I’d previously leased Porsches Audis and Mercedes and never had that issue. Does anyone have personal experience with this and lucid? I know we’re really now only getting to the stage of potential lease returns for the first time of this vehicle. Is there any official policy set for anywhere that you all are aware of?

Thanks!

The lease agreement specified tint will be a charge. Doesn’t specify cost. However many tint shops will charge 200 to remove it, which isn’t too bad.

$200 just to remove? mine doesn't even cost that much to install lol. My guy removes it for free, because I always bring my new car to him. But it would probably only be about a $30 charge. You can really just rip um off your self. then just get goo gone to remove the glue residue.

Agreed. I think I'm gonna move forward. The car, like most, looks so much better with the tints.

My tint shop charges $25 to remove tint so $200 is def way too high. Enjoy the car the way you want it and deal with all that later.
